Title: New and just exploring myself

Hello everyone! My name is Alex. I just found this site completely by accident while I was Googling questions I had about coming out as transmasculine to people. I am 33 years old and from a homophobic/transphobic family and have never had the opportunity to look at myself the way I have always wanted to, and now that I'm 33, I got my hair cut short and masculine and realized that this is who I am. The only reason I had the courage to do any of this is because my amazing fiance says he would love me the same whether I was a woman or a man so now that I have him for support, I am searching for a sense of belonging that I never got from my family.

Hi Alex and awesome to have you here! Lots of us realise who we are a lot later than we might have done, because it takes so long to see through all the 'rules' we've been taught about how people ought to be. So you are not alone here, most of us have confronted similar problems to you in the past, or are trying to overcome them in the present, so you'll find empathy and help here, for sure. We'd all be pleased for you to belong :-)

Hi Alex
My name is Sarah and I would also like to formally, Welcome you to Susan's Place!
I see that other members of Susan's have also welcomed you as well.
It's great that you found this space and I truly hope you discover the support and sense of belonging you need. It takes a lot of bravery to start figuring out who you are, especially coming from a challenging family background, but it sounds like you have a wonderful fiancé who loves and supports you. That is really something special.
From what you've shared, it seems you're at a crucial point in your life where you are trying to figure out what truly makes you happy. To move forward, my best advice would be to connect with a gender therapist, psychiatrist, psychologist, or counsellor who practices informed consent. They can help you sort through your thoughts and untangle all those "what ifs." They will offer insights into your feelings, help you understand your identity and assist you in determining what steps, if any, might feel right for you.
Remember, you are not alone in this. You deserve to embrace who you are, freely and without fear. This community is here to support you and I hope you find comfort, encouragement and understanding as you navigate this journey.
Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads. I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members.
In addition members of Susan's will more than likely will discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.
Take care and all the best for the future.
Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!
Best Wishes Always

Welcome to the site, honey. You will find this place safe harbour. Dig into the vast wealth of people's experiences documented here.
I don't think your fiancé is the source of your courage though. I think you always had it... you just needed a catalyst. Someone to help you realise who you are.
You are you. No one can take that away from you. Explore what that means. You are very welcome here. :)
