Title: Found a Clinic in Surrey UK and I'm underway!

Well after some hunting around I've settled on a clinic in Surrey that I really liked. Super staff who put me at ease. The prices seem reasonable too considering e.g. £350 for 6 sessions on full face.
The clinic uses the Soprano Platinum Ice Laser which uses trio cluster wavelengths (Alexandria 750nm, Speed 810nm, and YAG 1064nm). The patch test on both my face and chest didn't hurt at all. Certainly not compared to the 60+ hours of electrolysis I had once.
The clinician said she will use motion passes but also some pulse work on my face, so maybe that will hurt a bit more.
And the best thing? It's a 10 minute walk through a country park from where I now live :)
I'll keep you posted: fingers crossed that it works!!!

As a follow-up, I was expecting to need my back doing but the clinician took a look and said, 'well you don't really need it'. This was a big surprise. So she took a photo with her iPad and showed me. Basically what used to be quite a bit of heavy hair has disappeared into just some wispy light bits that are hardly visible.
I may still have it done but it's no longer a big priority.
Estrogen, eh, don't you love it?! :D

First sesh today on my face, abdomen, and chest.
It went really well. I didn't feel a thing. More like a pleasant warm massage. Because of this she will do some high pulse work on a few small areas of my face next time.

I'm glad the session turned out good. I'm hoping the Motus AY is as good. From what I was told it seems to be about the same process. I am kinda excited for next Wednesday for my appointment. I am scheduled for face, neck, chest and arms. I want to get a majority done in one session. Then go back for legs and under arms. This also comes with 6 follow ups. I just hope it is as pleasant as yours was. Congrats Tills. 🤗

Good luck Annaliese!
I know what you mean about wanting to get on with a good amount from the outset. I may have my back, legs, and arms done sometime although none of those areas have much hair in my case. I'll also have to see what the surgical team say about genital hair in advance of the vaginoplasty.
Anyway, fingers crossed for you for next week.
A key thing I was reminded about is to keep out of the sun, wear a wide-brimmed hat, and use SPF 50. Suntan or sunburn is a no-no for effective laser work.

I've been chatting to others over on the hormone thread about sublingual vs injected. https://www.susans.org/index.php/topic,250047.msg2304880.html#msg2304880
We were discussing what constituted 'commitment' and I mentioned about how gels do really affect my life: specific application times every day which mean I have to get up at 4 am every single day. Then 30 mins every morning and evening for them to dry, with the morning one going on my upper legs so I have to be naked from the waist down. Plus you cannot wash at any time of the day: you need to either do so before application or several hours afterwards.
Anyway, I thought I should add here (rather than on that thread) what a commitment preparation for laser treatment is proving through this spring and summer, which has been the sunniest on record in the UK. I literally cannot get any sun on my face or neck, chest area. I slap on SPF50 and then wear a wide-brimmed hat AND even then keep completely out of the sun if I can.
6 x 5 weeks in between treatments is around 7 months of this and I'm currently 1/3rd of the way through. It's quite tough.
Just something for ladies to bear in mind. If you do have a choice, pick the winter time!!!

This has been my life for about a year now, but that is due to my skin cancer risk. I have had seven removed, and my dermatologist checks me every six months. The risk is real. Protect your skin.

Lori and others,
I bought a top that was marketed that has some built in sun protection in its fabric.
It is long sleeve. I do not know how effective it is with its sun UV ray management.
Have you heard of this type of clothing?
Chrissy

Dear Chrissy and Tills:
YES INDEED, "sun protection" clothing does work.
Where I live in Alaska, in the summer time, we have up 22+ hours of sun. I am quite
involved in outside activities... so I do have some sunblock, UV protection clothing,
especially tops. Check out the LINK below for more information, descriptions and photos.

As for my ches and face, I have also a hard time noticing. I did ask and was told most will really be noticible after 2nd and third treatments. I think we keep pressing on 😊 🫂 🤗 Annaliese

Yesterday I had my second chest session and the first one down below.
I found out later that the clinic don't normally 'go there' on male genitalia. But because it's preparation for GRS and because the practitioner is a very nice lady and trusts me by now, she did. No pain at all, just a little warmth from time to time.
I may be having Minimal Depth Vaginoplasty but I think it's still good to get as much hair removed as possible now. And I might yet go for full depth anyway.

Treatment is all going on apace now. Third face session yesterday and I've had more work on the chest area and below.
Results are amazing. The lady said she could hardly see any hair left on my face anyway, but that's partly because I had c 60 hours of electrolysis previously and also because I was never particularly hairy. I never had a stubble even before treatments began.
It did hurt more y'day but I think that's because it was a different operator and she really went at it.
All good and I'm delighted with progress so far.
