Title: what might we expect?
Post by: kat2 on April 07, 2025, 07:23:42 AM
I thought I would post with regard to changes that you may experience over time, which may be dependant upon age, are my hormones working for me?

The importance of diet and exercise. If I can I am always happy with a ratio of around 10 (hip to waist) so 24/34, but it is also about what looks right.

This is not a post to encourage others to post pictures but to be realistic and talk about an area of our bodies that do exist but no one really talks about them? Is it wrong to say or discuss how our bodies are progressing.

I am posting two pictures one in my bikini bottoms and another in a cropped top, both show as much as you would see on any American beach.

I would say that my growth took around three years, but I still have the occasional growth spurt. My hips currently are 38 and a half inches, waist is 30 so I have gone out of shape, I am trying to redress the issue with both hormones and exercise

I have a 24 inch waist with 34 inch hips.  Any smaller than that and clothing sizes become an issue I wear the smallest size available, usually size XS.  I have purchased size 0 golf shorts that were too big for me.  :o

24/34 is a waist/hip ratio of 0.706

Surprisingly few women have hourglass figures.  It is around 8%

It is all exercise and genetics.  I'm not on HRT.  32A  for an hourglass figure.

For me HRT did very little in terms of overall shape no matter what i did and produced very minimal breast growth... all of which was unfortunate with my build.

I started HRT at about 40 almost 30 years ago... HRT is very much a YMMV type of thing. While odds are better for getting bigger changes the younger one starts... even that is not an absolute for the old or young.

I will say I have a long ways to go, but I working hard. I am about 5"10 and 179. I have been on a balanced diet since February 10. I started out at 192. I know it's hard to lose this dreaded belly fat, but I am on a mission. For a 66 year old I am determined.  I started HRT, just estradiol patch 1mg/24 twice week on March 10. So I know I have my job cut out for me. From what understand I have to lose my preexisting belly weight as this will not redistribute to my hips, breast, or butt. But at same time gain weight for redistribution. This is confusing to me. As for hip to weist ratio, well I am weigh off, lol. My calculations have me at 1.06. Hips 40.06, waist 42.8. So much weight to lose, but determined. 😊

Hey Kat

Expectations should always be YMMV... We are all different...remaining open to accept whatever physical changes come our way, whether a lot or a little, is a sound strategy... I view HRTs emotional and inner changes as the most profound but, I ended up quite pleased with my physical results.

I will be hitting my 12 year HRT anniversary at the end of the year...I ended up pretty hourglass too and was blessed with a pretty small ribcage after I lost the 40 pounds of muscle on it from HRT.... That took about 3+ years to see the last of the back muscle go... Hips were dormant for a while but filled in around the 3 year mark well... Any way I have settled into the following

Height 5'7 tall (lost some height over the years too... maybe pelvic tilt changing or just getting older)

Weight 129-131 (I started HRT around 170, very low body fat but lots of muscle from surfing, running and a very physical job so all the weight loss was muscle loss)

Bust 36.5" (no BA surgery)

Underbust 29.5"

Waist 27"

Hips 37"

Onward We Go Little Sister!

I could not agree more with your sentiment hence what we might expect? for me watching my body re align with a tortured brain brought inner peace.I thought since, there have been many questions about the effects of hrt only a topic which is a snapshot might be of use as a guide or gage
