I would have to say "no" because I don't know what that is. I have probably never had them. ;D

Well I think it may be what Big Kim ate for supper one evening.
Some kind of sausage and mashed potatoes.

Sounds good. I am picky about the sausage I eat, though. Some use spices that upset my tummy, even though they taste wonderful. I even have to be cautious about sausage on my pizza. Some are just fine. Others and I regret it til morning.

Yes. Omg yes. It's like a British staple. Good quality sausages, good quality mashed potato (I don't mean the kind out of a packet, I mean the kind put through a potato ricer with copius amounts of milk and butter), and a good, thick beef gravy... that is actual heaven. And one dish I know how to do rather extraordinarily well.
You basically have a pile of mashed potato and stick sausages into them like unexploded World War 2 Ordnance. The term "bangers" comes from cooking good quality sausages where the skins on them would "bang" and split in the pan. Mash is... I mean it's mashed potato. ;D

Lori, you need to be exposed to a Cumberland sausage (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumberland_sausage). They are the best for Bangers & Mash.

Nope wouldn't like it. But I'd eat it with potatoes the way I do it and just one sausage.

I miss this so badly. I enjoy sausage, mash and baked beans. Unfortunately my boyfriend hates the texture of mashed potato so we have to have fries. Apparently dislike of these food textures can be part of autism which he has.

Only if you can cut the gravy with a knife, I hate thin runny watery gravy!

Not short of good butchers in my area, some excellent sausages to be had Cumberland, Lincolnshire, tomato, venison, wild boar and Scottish square sausage. My Grandmother lived in Buckie when I was a kid and always took us some square sausage when visiting us. More of a breakfast sausage, love it on a barmcake with 2 rashers of smoked bacon and brow sauce.

I had a lot of experience with British sausages. Get your minds out of the gutter! 🤣
Not exactly bangers, but the chippy I worked at was started by a wealthy man who wanted to recreate his grandfather's shoppe. He worked there as a kid. Anyway, he started with premium sausages, 68% pork. The customers didn't like them. He switched to the 40% ones and did a little better, but still complaints. He went to the 28% pork sausages and we just sold them and nobody ever complained again. But I stopped eating them. 😉

What was in the sausages to fill them up, besides the declining amounts of pork?

However, I have heard my English friends don't get good breakfast sausage (links, bulk or patties). I like to take the bulk sausage fry it up make a thick gravy and put it over buttermilk biscuits. Put some eggs and tapatio sauce with hashedbrown potatoes. Now that is a southern breakfast

You're never supposed to ask what's* in the sausage! 🤣
Here's an ingredient list for 42% pork sausages.
42% Pork, water, toast (WHEAT flour, calcium carbonate, iron, niacin and thiamine and salt), pork rind, pork fat, WHEAT flour, SOY concentrate (SOY flour, SOY PROTEIN, (xanthan gum), salt, stabil E451, flavor enhancer E621, spices, dextrose, preservative E223 (SODIUM METABISULPHITE), antiox E300 and flavorings.
*Not what...who. Where do you think Jimmy Hoffa went?

Chip shop sausages and actual sausages are quite the different thing in Britain. Dev gets this. People go to a chippy in the same way they go to get a kebab on a Friday night. It is not gourmet food. It just satisfies the munchies. I was quite partial to a battered sausage back in the day.
Decent, butchered sausage with genuine mash is an experience. You need a potato ricer for that, though. And like Davina stated... gravy you have to eat with a fork.
