Apparently bananas.  One with a split skin.  Seen before.  Yet I get the feeling someone wants a bit of cleverness.  I need the rest of the joke first, then the punchline.  >:-)

While I believe that there isn't a fruit that is called "Lipfruit" ... 
...I do have a hunch that the answer that @Devlyn finally reveals may be
along the lines of something to do with "Lips"

I thought the parts surrounding the opening looked like lips.

I thought it was obvious that this was a specimen of musa fractura, or banana split.  :)
