I'm curious, since I have been on Estradiol in March I have had trouble sleeping through the night. I used to sleep until about 7 a.m. or 8 a.m every morning even some mornings until later. I never paid no mind to it until recently, but I seem to be waking up about 4:30 to 5:00 am. now every morning. Sometimes even earlier. I am having a hard time staying asleep I just can't figure this out. I never had this issue before. I guess it is a plus because I go to bed at 9:00 p.m. every night and I guess getting 8 hours sleep is good, but I'm not really getting a solid 8 hours. Sometimes I'm up at 3:00 a.m. or so and this varies. I find it very easy to initially fall asleep, but when I wake later it is hard to stay asleep. Has anyone experienced this when they started hrt?

When the endocrinologists were trying to figure out my estradiol levels, I had a hard time sleeping due to hot flushes and night sweats. Now that my levels are high enough, I have sleep issues, but they are due to PTSD. I noticed that I sleep more soundly now that I am taking progesterone.

I have a messed up sleep schedule from being a shift worker. However, I'm noticing I'm sleeping much more soundly since starting HRT.

Quote from: Alana1990 on Today at 04:43:08 PMI have a messed up sleep schedule from being a shift worker. However, I'm noticing I'm sleeping much more soundly since starting HRT.I'm thinking it has to do with anxiety. I have been been doing so much bouncing around in my head these past weeks. I think the coming weeks as I sort through these thoughts with my therapist this should resolve itself.

For quite a while, I had a sleep pattern, like yours, where I'd wake up at about 3:30 - 4:00 and not get back to sleep for two hours. I can function on 5 hours, but not well.
I never associated that pattern with estradiol, though. I can't pinpoint when the sleep pattern started, and I certainly never noticed any correlation at the time I started HRT. I attribute the sleep disruption to stress.
