I'm glad that I cannot vote for this person --- or vote against him.  Sounds like a case for the Log Cabin Republicans.

Once again we see the muddling of church with state.  Although Mr. Huckabee is a Baptist minister he has no power to dissolve a marriage.  It's odd that he can witness one (not perform one, the parties to the union perform it), even on behalf of the State of
Arkansas, but neither *he nor any other minister can dissolve a marriage.* 

Marriage is a contract and being such, it must be dissolved in a court as a civil matter, a contract dispute for which the parties to the dispute seek relief from the competent court.  No church has the authority or power to alter or dissolve the marriage contract.

What we have is another case of wrapping the Bible in the American flag, a dangerous package.

It is simple for the states to declare the minimum age for marriage with parental consent, marriage with consent of the courts, and for two parties to marry of their own free will and accord.  Is it so hard for the state to define who is qualified to marry?  How about saying that a marriage has two parties, both of whom are human, age whatever or older.  Beyond this the state shall not interfere in their right to marry?

Just my ideas.

You have to dance with them what brung ya.  The 'Pubs were warned about bringing these people in and catering to them.  But did they listen, Noooooooooooo.  So this is just the chickens coming home to roost.

Not that I believe it is going to fully destruct, but, I have to ask, why would you find it painful?

If there were any noble republicans, they would just get out and start a righteous party or actually LEAD their party and minimalize the influence of the whackos.
