Bubble and Squeak has become a common British meal for using up left over vegetables.
Have you eaten Bubble and Squeak? The British sure have interesting names for some of its foods!

My grandma used to make it, but now you can buy it in supermarkets. The name comes from the sound made cooking in the pan. Supposedly. I'm not sure I ever heard much squeaking, lol.

I doubt it is something you'd have in the US. It was propagated in a huge way during WW2, when rationing was a thing and people didn't let things go to waste. It's basically reheated leftovers in its purest sense. But since the idea of a Sunday roast is more of a UK thing, that's not really a surprise.

Imagine after thanksgiving dinner and you have loads of leftover veggies. Well, then imagine mixing them together and sticking them in a frying pan the next day maybe with some chopped bacon and butter. You fry it all together like one giant vegetable fritter until it;s all crispy. That's bubble and squeak. Tasty! Some say it's better than the actual dinner that spawned it!
