I have been fine with being a closet crossdresser.  However, I did mention at one point to my wife that I wondered what I would look like if I were to wear makeup.  She then found a stylist who works with the trans community.  I chatted with her and she works with non-transitioning crossdressers as well.  Now I am signed up for her services, but I am  wondering if this is really what I want.  The stylist finds outfits and works with a makeup artist.  I have not yet done any body shaving, but I guess I should at least shave my legs for this.  Now the question is what I do with my chest hair.  Did not originally intend on anything, but I wonder if it would help when the stylist is looking for outfits.

Struggling to understand what I really want out of this.

I have a cousin who is gay and manages an LGBTQ campground. They routinely sponsor events like drag shows and such. He posted some pics one time of their "Little Red Dress" competition. I thought, "Oh my! At least shave your legs and armpits!"

He just laughed. He is not into drag or cross-dressing; he was just participating with the other campers in the event. They always have a great time, and it is fun to see some of the costumes everyone wears. Some of the events are like the "Little Red Dress" or sometimes a "Black Dress", Tiki Night, and a Miniskits and Go-Go Boots Dance. It looks like so much fun.

So, whether you want to shave or not, the important part is to just have fun! It is only hair, and it will grow back if you don't like it.  ;D

I shaved my body hair until I got more advanced hair removal tools.
I have very little chest hair so it more like what genetic girls normally shave.

I shave my chest and stomach area hair occasionally to keep it tidy, but then I've never had much hair there anyway. I also like to shave my armpits as personally I think it is a cleaner look even when I'm not cross dressed.
If it's a conundrum for you then don't stress. Do whatever you are comfortable with and enjoy it. Remember this is all about you.

I think that less hair the better, except perhaps on the top of the head.  However this is a matter of personal preference.
Take each day one day at a time and enjoy your experiences.

My wife always says just take it in small steps. Try something, and if it doesn't feel right, step back.

How dark is your chest hair? It definitely helps not to have any and there are lots of ways around it. I had mine removed by laser many years ago, but that works best if hair is dark and much less well if it's lighter.

Your partner is your biggest strength here, because if she's signed up, then your path will be so much easier. Don't forget to tell her how valued she is!

I've done lots of posts in the How-To forum about sizing for women's clothes and also about wigs and breast forms, so take a look!

 Just do your face, of course, and forearms. Clothing can cover the rest. Having your face done will do wonders for self esteem and confidence. That your wife is on board is awesome!
