Title: Do you like to eat cucumber pickles?
Post by: ChrissyRyan on July 12, 2025, 11:16:24 AM
Do you like to eat cucumber pickles?

When buying, I always buy the ones without the high fructose corn syrup and instead, real sugar.  Organic is a plus.

Do you like dill pickles?  The sweeter ones?  The slices?  The long cut slices?  Whole pickles?

Do you make pickles?  How did they turn out?  Did you can or freeze them, or just make them and eat them fairly quickly?

They're called  gherkins  here in England.  I'm a fan liked them since I was a kid in the 60s

Gherkins... hell yes. I will literally eat the pickles off someone else's big mac, lol.

Dill pickles, at least in the uk, are almost the exact same thing only the put dill into the pickling juice. I can't say I've ever noticed any difference. But then I am a bit of a luddite when it comes to herbs.

My grandma used to make pickled onion slices and cucumber slices. Leave them for a few days in vinegar, put together. They were the best thing ever with a good roast ham!

My 2nd wife did that. She loved them!

I made pickles via the hot water and white vinegar method and they turned out well.
I bought a commercially available spice / seed package for the preparation of the pickles.
I will do this again for more cucumbers.

I like eating pickles. Even more so if they are cold.

I love pickles. My favorite are Mt. Olive bread & butter chips. I don't even need a sandwich to put them on. I'll eat them right out of the jar.

I can eat pickles right out of the jar.  I prefer the sweet pickles made without high fructose corn syrup.  Organic on top of that is what I prefer.

I can make those at home with my own cucumbers.
