Title: Bras—-do you overheat with them on?
Post by: NancyDrew1930 on July 13, 2025, 07:52:21 AM
With the warm weather, I've been finding that I have been getting overheated from my bras, and I wonder if others have similar incidents and how the keep cool wearing bras.

I have had that problem with push-ups or padded bras. They "insulate" and so retain the heat. Nice in winter, but in summer not so much.

I have some bras that are almost like lingerie that I wear. They are sheer and lightweight. The downside is that they can make nipples more visible, since there is no padding to keep them under control. Wearing a baggy top can hide that, but I have discovered that most people either don't notice or don't care.

While moving, I wore tighter, lightweight tops that were comfortable for the long drive. Perhaps the perception is that when it is hot, it doesn't matter. I prefer to dress more conservatively, but I had no stares, and I was cool and comfortable.

When I jog for a while or otherwise work out for a while I tend to get sweaty and the bras do get wet too.  I work in an air conditioned space and so is my car.  If the temperature is in the upper 80s or 90s I can sweat too.

I do not wear push-up bras often however I have been wearing them more often recently.  I wear lightly padded bras.  As long as I am in an air conditioned space and not exerting myself much physically I do not sweat and my bras stay dry.

In the evening, I often do not wear a bra at home.

When I transitioned, bras were awesome! They were the most incredibly affirming piece of clothing I could wear. After a year or two, I realized how incredibly hot they were in the Summer. Unless I'm wearing something that demands a bra, I don't wear one at all now.

I cannot imagine not wearing bras away from home or beach if one is big up there, such as with 400cc - 500cc and more implants or D or bigger cups.  I would think that support is needed or at least it seems advised.  But, as I am only a B cup I cannot speak for women with those breast sizes.  I would not know from experience.  Maybe a bra is not needed except for exercise support.  I would think though that the band of the bra for support would make it easier on the back over time.

For people with implants, I think the placement makes a difference. Although there are variations, the most frequent placement options are submuscular and subglandular.

With submuscular, the implants are place under the pectoral muscles. While this can initially be more uncomfortable and require a longer recovery period, it may result in a more natural look and feel.

For subglandular placement, the implants are above the pectoral muscle, but beneath existing breast tissue.

Based on my anatomy and my surgeon's experience, my implants are submuscular. Basically, my pectoral muscles are acting as a bra. When I 'flex' my pectoral muscles, I can put on quite a show. While I eventually may need to wear a bra for support, I'm currently enjoying my freedom to choose.

I think any woman will tell you that if they have a chance to not wear a bra they will usually take it. Lol.

That being said I feel most woman won't go out in public without some sort of bra or bra-let on, especially those more mature women.

I feel younger women don't care as much and will go braless pretty much anywhere

Legally, I'm only seven years old, and my breasts are six, so I guess I fall into that category!

If I'm wearing something sheer or a light color, I will wear a camisole under it.

I guess I should provide an example. My wife would never even think about leaving the house without wearing a bra or something under her top.

Her oldest daughter who is only 21, practically never wears a bra ever, unless it's a sports bra for working out. She will not think twice about leaving the house with just a top on and no bra.

So that's what I mean more generational then I guess younger or older.

Some days I seem to want to wear the push-up for a bigger appearance but other days I am content with one of my regular lightly padded bras.  My push-up is one cup size smaller than my usual bras and with the thicker padding, there is a noticeable shaping.

Jess is most shapely as you cannot help but see.

I don't have much of any experience to talk on this subject. I unfortunately have minimal growth so far. If it's cold out and my skin in tight I look like I have no development what so ever.

I usually just wear sports bra or bra-let types of I feel the breast budding is noticable, but usually don't wear anything most days since I don't need to yet. Most of everything I wear is to conceal not to enhance right now.

That being said when I do wear one it usually has to be breathable since I'm in az. Either way out in the heat it becomes miserable and sweaty. Def have to stay indoors in the a/c lol

Today I am having one of my periodic breast size envy days, that is the best name I can come up with, so I am wearing my push-up bra and will be at work shortly.  A nice very dark orange, almost red top suitable for the office, is certainly calling out my breasts and it is a nice look this morning.

I do not think I will be sweating any at the office as the air conditioning will take care of that.

Gotta go now...
