Title: Shutdown of my LGBT agency
Post by: Hinoiri on August 27, 2025, 01:38:02 PM
I found out today than Ken Paxton's office is defunding my agency that I use. It does LGBT services and assault victims services. The agency will shut down Sept 30. The agency do hope to find another way to stay up. Man it's like they don't want to fund any kind of mental health services.

Which agency?

Check with Equality Texas to see if there is someone else stepping up to fill the gap.

Open Arms Advocacy. I will be fine. Open Arms will refer me to another agency to use. I'm upset as I have a good relationship with Open Arms.

Let us know where you end up. We have members in Texas who could use that information. Thanks for the update!
