Title: New profile pic
Post by: Liz K on September 12, 2025, 07:26:54 PM
Thank you to whoever changed my profile pic to a black bird with trans wings.  It's very nice.  I was okay with the boring avatar I had.  So boring I don't remember what it looked like.  But the trans bird is def better.

When I get off noob probation I'll show y'all my smiley face.

That's all

Susan (our Founder) changed all default avatars to this cool phoenix pic. Additionally, the rules were changed so you don't need to wait until 15 posts to change it. The 15-post limit only applies to Private Messaging now.

Let's see that smile!

Lori -

The instructions you gave are for inserting a photo into a Forum post.  I want to change my profile photo, which coincidentally reverted to the boring, faceless avatar I had before the trans Phoenix avatar appeared.  Anyway, according to a March post by Danielle, new members are prohibited from changing their profile photo until they have 15 posts.  If that's correct, this post should get me to that threshold.

While I'm here, I might as well try posting a recent photo of my smiley face.  And yes, I DO smile a lot these days.  Obviously, I'm very glammed up in this photo - ready for a night out with girlfriends.  My everyday look is much more subdued.

Edit - pasting BBCode doesn't work.  Sigh.

Hi, Liz. Sorry about that.

Click on your Profile name (in the above post), select the Forum Profile Tab, and scroll down to the second option, Forum Profile. You should see where it says 'Upload an Avatar.'

@Liz K
Dear Liz:
Thank you for sharing and posting your new beautiful Avatar Profile photo of yourself.
Your happy face and big smile is wonderful for all of us to see here on the Forum.

I had always found, especially when I first started transitioning that a happy face and
a BIG smile can be very disarming to the people that you meet for the first time.
Then, of course, a friendly demeanor, and perhaps being the first to say hello will assist in breaking the ice.

.... and "thank you" to @Lori Dee for assisting you with the instructions.

I am so glad that you decided to join us and register as a member here.

My warmest regards,
Danielle
