Trump extorts 10 major universities to sign transphobic agreement

President Donald Trump is attempting to extort nine major universities across the U.S. to sign a transphobic "Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education." If they refuse, then his administration will withhold "substantial and meaningful federal grants" that would fund the schools. He has given the schools until November 21 to respond.
The 10-page compact demands that the universities deny all recognition of transgender students and bar them from accessing women's bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports teams. It also demands that schools evaluate professors' views to ensure that there are no "institutional units that purposefully punish, belittle, and even spark violence against conservative ideas."
The compact also demands that colleges stop considering student admissions based on race, gender, and other student demographics and would force the school's applicants to take the SAT or ACT academic tests. The demands will be enforced by Trump's Department of Justice.
The compact was sent to Vanderbilt, the University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth College, the University of Southern California, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Texas, the University of Arizona, Brown University, and the University of Virginia, PBS reported.
