Hiiii....I'm new. I'm Katrina, an MTF TS who's only just starting transition. I knew what I was for a long time, but only figured out what that meant 4 years ago with the help of my [ex-]girlfriend, who was bi-gendered.
I came out to my parents (I live at home while going to college) within a week of figuring out that what I was is called "transsexual" and what I needed to do. A week later, my dad went into the hospital with Bacterial Meningitis and came so close to dying that the doctors were calling it a miracle that he survived. Between the costs that entailed and my parents complete opposition to my plight, I was unable to do anything to start transitioning. It didn't help that there were no therapists within 3 hours of where I lived at the time.
However, we moved a little over a year ago and now I attend Texas State University. With some encouragement from my boyfriend (whom I've been with almost 2 years now), I went to the counseling center and started seeing a therapist, and re-confronted my parents about it. I'm walking a thin line right now as I move forward with my transition. My parents don't want me transitioning at home, but they're reluctantly letting me continue this because they know they can't stop it. However, at any point, they may decide they can't tolerate it anymore and kick me out.

I hope that your parents continue to be non-obstructive, and eventually learn to become supportive.
They will soon find that there is no way to stop this. It does not go away.

Transitioning from one gender to the other is a very dificult and oft times traumatic experience. Transitioning takes a great amount of determination, perseverence, and most importantly certainty.
I was struck by the fact that you have a boyfriend of two years yet you have only now begun transition. Please do not take this the wrong way, I only ask the question because it causes me concern and I do not want anyone to make a big mistake.
Are you certain that you are not just gay? You don't need to answer here, it is just a question I am asking you to ask yourself. I have known many gay people in my life who were effeminate and maintained thier male existence while indulging thier feminine side. They were all wonderful people and I was proud to call them my friends. To be true to yourself I can only hope that you will examine such questions thouroughly before making any permenant alterations.
