Heyya, I have been making music for a couple of years and gained a few official releases of my house music tracks. However I'm getting a strong urge to make music that is personal and really says something about me. House is a pretty restrictive genre so I'm looking to really experiment.
I went to a music event last week held by my local transgender charity TNB connect. A number of trans musicians performed with a particular emphasis on rap music. The charity was started by Nate Ethan a very good UK rap artist.
I really fancy getting my voice onto my tracks and am considering along with learning my feminine voice, working on control so I can do at least respectable vocals in a rap type style. I probably wouldn't make pure rap per se, but it's workable to drop thst style of vocal into dance / uk garage / drum & bass etc.
So I've got some work to do! Firstly I've literally made a list of random thoughts. From then I need to seed some ideas. I will try and find a local poetry group...get better at working with words to develop my ideas. From here then I should study rap vocals to see how they work.
Anyways just wanted to share my ideas incase anyone has thoughts on how to make this happen. And below is my first list of key thoughts. It'll grow for sure.
Charlotte 😻 (T-Gurl C)
Ready to slay. Feel alive. Bold and confident. Shoulders high. Saunter sachet. Freedom to be me. Blinded by the vision. To be free. T gurl C. Them E pills they magic. Looking I see the me I want to be. Soft and gentle, strong and independent. She's a real woman. Perfection in her imperfection. Oh big is beatiful and big is where she's going. Inside she's 1000 genders. Outside she's a vision of her femininity. Being her is like floating in air. Learning a new way, a journey of beautiful discovery.
A weight hung around my chest. Pulled down so heavy, I can't find me. So much weight to do that thing. Each side is dark. Stuck in stasis. Floating in nothing. Gotta throw that weight off. Drop the baggage. Find me again. Feel that uplift, float above the ground. Looking for that diva, the part of me in the shadows. She's in there...tied back by the weights. She needs a chance...to find her confidence. Emerge from the shadows and show her real personality. Weirdness is unashamedly her badge of honor. Embrace that and show everything.
Inside there is that animal. Full of energy. Getting zoomies in the moment. Singing in pure animal screams. Cute and cuddly. Energetic and crazy.
These are my best friends. My best friends inside me. Learning to love what is. Getting to know the inside. Coming to peace with her. And the him that is gone. I still love him, but he was then. He did so much I can never forget him. But here's her chance. She'll do so much too. She'll make her own history. Honour the foundation he built. The values don't change. He and her they think the same...in a way they are the same. He was always her and she is now him.

Well here is an idea 😺
Verse 1
He was always her and she is him,
He built the grounds she's singing in.
She was always there inside his skin,
She broke the shell so we can win.
Pre-Chorus
We are one — his honor is true.
We are one — her honor is true.
Chorus
A thousand lives, a thousand genders,
Boy, I loved him — but he was then.
A thousand lives, a thousand genders,
What we become begins again.
Verse 2
He was always her and she is him,
He made his history, now he can dim.
She was always there inside of him,
She'll make her future to bloom right in.
Pre-Chorus
We are one — his honor is true.
We are one — her honor is true.
Chorus
A thousand lives, a thousand genders,
I still love him — but he was then.
A thousand lives, a thousand genders,
What she becomes, I'll hold again.
