I'm as white as a milk bottle and burn under a lightbulb so have been trying out a gradual tanning lotion. (Dove Summer Revival)
It's supposed to be far easier to control than normal fake tan and all the reviews say its streak free. However, low and behold I have streaks on my legs but only on the lower leg and feet. I also have a mild case of the orange palms despite washing thoroughly with hand soap.
Just wondering what advice you lovely people might have for streak free application?

Wear rubber gloves.
Make sure that it is applied evenly. Not just every area is covered, but the thickness should be uniform as well.
I gave up on lotions long ago. I had considered a spray tan, but I haven't convinced myself I want it that badly.

These tanning lotions do not work for me. Maybe I have not tried the right ones.
I prefer the natural summer tanning. But, not too much because of skin cancer possibility risks.

I can vouch for that. I have always been the outdoorsy type since I was a kid. I grew up in the desert, enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting, did military service, and now prospecting and rockhounding.
The damage is real. I have had seven basal cell carcinomas removed. Five on my face and neck with Mohs surgeries. One on my arm and one on my back were removed with ED&C. Now I have a dermatologist check my skin every six months.
The damage they see now was done thirty years ago, so don't think it won't hit you later. Protect your skin. It is more important than you think.

Hence the fake tan version for me. I've spent my life covering up my legs trying to avoid tic bites and nettle stings and my legs just don't go brown (except for just above my knees weirdly!). maybe if I wear shorts more but I shave my legs and (fake tan obviously!). Plus I haven't seen the sun for over a month over here!
Rubber gloves is a good shout, I've got some latex gloves I use for cooking with chillies. will try that tomorrow.
The colour is great it's just streaky in places.. I'm after tips to stop the streaks. I thought I had full cover but maybe I haven't. Anybody use tanning mitts?
