Title: Holiday as a way to test the water

I'm curious if any of you went on holiday as a way to test living as the opposite sex?
A lot of my holidays are spent in Scotland and I usually rent cottages in reasonably quiet places. I started to wonder if it could be feasible to hire one for a week and go as Stottie Girl. Going to somewhere like Scotland would be familiar to me without actually knowing anyone and wouldn't require any id like passports etc, no security and so on.
Has anyone tried this and if so was it useful?
Not planning anything imminently, just a thought really.

@Stottie Girl
Dear Stottie Girl:
I am aware of several of our members that have posted about holidays or work days out of town
to be able to live and dress as the opposite sex.
I think it is a good way to explore the options of dressing and appearing as you desire in
your transition journey.
Wishing you well in your "explorations"

Sounds like a very good plan to me. Ultimately it's about you feeling comfortable and then able to normalize being out as your true self. Possibly you start somewhere secluded but then venture towards a few people then more and your confidence grows.
It's a very personal thing I'd say. Most people I think do what you plan and take it slowly, build confidence. But I kinda enjoyed the risk somehow...pushing boundaries, seeing reactions. But I'm nuts so not a good basis for most people! I just boymoded with full facial and arm hair in pink dresses...at work...out and about etc. It was very bold, I didn't care!

I travel a lot for my career, and did try changing my presentation on some trips early on. Just be aware that if you're traveling alone you'll want to be mindful of the people around you. There are folks out there that could be aggressive or violent toward a vulnerable trans woman.

And I do like to hike and get outdoors for photography so there is the possibility of encountering someone with those views in a remote place on your own. I've never met anyone while out hiking who wasn't thoroughly pleasant but I've also never been as a trans woman.
I suppose safety is something I'll need to concern myself with in the future. I'm going to have to start thinking of safety from a female perspective.
It's not something I will be doing until I think I have half a chance of passing though. That would be the point of it for me. I suppose passing is no guarantee of safety when out alone though.
Did you find the work trips useful though?
