What is your favorite type of fish to eat? How do you like it prepared?
Pan fried
Deep fried
Baked
Broiled
Raw ( sushi ?)
Blackened
Etc.
Breaded plain, skin on or off?
Bone in or bones removed?
With the fish in a sandwich or on a plate?

Cod or hake. Hake isn't always available but I buy it when I see it.
I'm partial to dredging fish in flour and pan frying it with oil and butter. But I'm trying to be healthy so nowadays I tend to poach fish and make a quick pan sauce from the poaching liquid.
Hugs, Devlyn

Like most fish. Some of my favourite are eel (London style with mashed potato and green liquor sauce, always have it when in London but I hear many shops are now closed. Deep fried catfish in batter, monkfish think it was poached. Also kippers. I boil mine much to the neighbour on my landings fury! John Dory is another favourite

You can peel the meat off a catfish clean and leave a skeleton that looks like Fred Flintstones comb. 🙂

Do you like to eat fish eggs? Sometimes these may be called roe or caviar.

I've had cod roe and actual caviar. It's okay, I wouldn't go out of my way for either.

Maybe I should stick with a brontosaurus burger.

I'd have to choose striped bass, partially because I can catch it in front of my home. Also, it's an outstanding fish to eat, with white, firm, flaky meat, a mild flavor and manageable bones. I haven't prepared enough to be able to tell you how I prefer it, but breaded with seasoned panko and fried in cast iron has been excellent.
The fish are literally on their way up the Chesapeake Bay where I live and will be catchable starting about 2 weeks from now.
I love to fish, but love to release my catch unharmed, so despite catching over 100 fish last year, I only kept 2. It's also important to know that many fish are not safe enough to be consumed on a regular basis. You can thank industrial pollution with lack of federal oversight for that. Hopefully, the recent rollbacks in ocean dumping protection can be reversed soon. We don't want to return to the "old days" despite what people think!

Smoked haddock all the way for me. I love it oven baked on garlic rubbed ciabatta topped with italian herbs. mmmm serve it with roasted cherry tomatoes and green beans. Or equally in a kedgeree.
The village of Craster is just up the road for me so I occassionally get a world famous Craster Kipper. The smells coming out of the smokehouse is fabulous.
Of course can't go wrong with cod or haddock for your fish n chips.

My wife's ex is British and they lived in Edinburgh for 3 years, so she's a Guiness and fish 'n chips gal, every time.
Fortunately, we very recently found a lovely seafood restaurant on of the rivers here that has a cozy pub and outstanding fish 'n chips. I look forward to partaking once my surgery recover allows it! I'll have a lighter lager, though, thanks very much.

Yeah, not a fan of Guiness, I'm partial to a nice real English ale myself. But my real love is a wee dram of single scottish malt whisky. I also quite like the canned cocktails you can get now. They're really nice. not that I'm much of a drinker these days. Does HRT affect your ability to consume alcohol I wonder?
