Hi I'm ShaneLauren
I started my interest in panties when I was young. I have a beautiful sister who wore beautiful cotton floral panties. By the age of 12 I got bipolar which altered my life significantly
Fast forward to 12 years ago when I started collecting bras panties dresses lingerie in earnest from Amazon
I was dealing with leaving dating women altogether and started having sex with men.
I have problems with ED. My mother and sister found out about my crossdressing and vowed to support me. After a few ppurges and wearing a women's swimsuit to the public pool and wearing a dress swinging in the park in morning;I'm now in a seniors home where I still wear and enjoy wearing bras and panties

Hi Shane Lauren
My name is Sarah and I would also like to formally, Welcome you to Susan's Place!
I see that other members of Susan's have also welcomed you as well.
Thank you for sharing your story. It takes courage to talk openly about personal experiences and past struggles. From what you wrote it is clear you have been through a lot in life and it shows strength to keep going.
There is nothing wrong with wearing female clothing if that makes you happy. Everyone deserves to live in a way that brings them comfort and peace. The fact that you were willing to go out in public wearing what you enjoy shows real bravery. Before I changed my life around I would have been far too scared to do that, so you clearly have great intestinal fortitude.
Amazon really is the modern day equivalent of the old Sears catalogue. Years ago I used catalogues in the same way to slowly build my wardrobe.
It is also wonderful to hear that your mother and sister support you. Having family support makes a very big difference in life and easier.
Something I sometimes say to people when it fits the situation is this. If you have a roof over your head, clothes to wear and food to eat according to Maslow's theory then the only way from there is up. Thinking about your medical conditions I would probably add that looking after one's health belongs on that list as well.
I wish you well and hope you continue to find comfort and happiness in being yourself.
Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads. I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members.
In addition members of Susan's will more than likely discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.
Please keep in mind when posting that this is an ALL AGES PUBLIC Forum and the internet never forgets. Do not post anything that you do not want to be made public.
Take care and all the best for the future.
Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!
Best Wishes Always

ShaneLauren,
I'm really glad you found your way to Susan's Place.
Thank you for sharing your story with us. Opening up about something this personal takes real courage. You've been carrying a lot for a long time — living with bipolar since you were twelve, navigating big shifts in your relationships, and going through those cycles of purging and starting over. Through all of that, you kept coming back to something that felt true. That matters. That's you listening to yourself even when the path was hard.
It's really good to hear that your mother and sister have chosen to stand beside you. Having family in your corner makes a real difference, and not everyone gets that. Hold onto it — that kind of support can be a source of real strength as you continue figuring out what feels right for you.
You'll find a lot of people here who share the experiences you described. The collecting, the purging, the coming back again and again to something that feels important — those are stories we hear often. Some members have also taken those first steps into public spaces and discovered what it feels like to be seen while expressing something they'd been carrying for a long time. You're in good company here, and this is a place where you don't need to justify or defend any of it.
For some people, what begins with clothing eventually leads to deeper questions about identity. Others find that the clothing itself is simply a meaningful and comfortable part of who they are. Both are valid. You may find that terms like crossdressing or gender nonconforming resonate with you, or you may discover that other language fits better as you go. There's no pressure to figure any of that out right now.
Take your time. Look around the forums, get to know people. Many of us arrived here with the same kinds of questions, and over time found both understanding and real connection.
Whoever you discover yourself to be, whatever words eventually feel right — you are welcome here exactly as you are.
You always will have a home here!
— Susan 💜
