This is a documentary, currently on Netflix, featuring Will Farrell and his 61-year-old friend, Harper, making a cross-country trip. Harper has just sent a letter to her family and friends announcing her transitioning. They are visiting family, friends, and places Harper visited in her life prior to transitioning.
It is very true to life. Harper is portrayed very realistically. This is a fantastic movie! Many times, I felt Harper was experiencing situations and emotions similar to mine of the last many many years. I highly recommend it!
Enjoy,
Coral

So it's real life - like a docu reality type of thing and not a regular movie?

It's 100% documentary. Unscripted, no acting. I think coral's comment "Harper is portrayed" could lead to some confusion, as there's no character portrayal there; it's just Harper being filmed.
I loved it, as well. And I came away with enormous respect for Will Ferrell.

I haven't seen it, but I saw an interview with Will Ferrell about it. I agree, mad respect for him.
