Do any of you play Advanced Duengeon and Dragons?
What edition?
What is your favorite character?
I got my family to play 1st edition and we have a blast.

I don't know what "Advanced" Dungeons and Dragons is? was that it's full name?
I played the first edition with friends in the 80's but I've never played since. I can't remember much about it. Then warhammer fantasy battle came out and I got hooked on that instead. I remember Warhammer 40k coming out and thinking that will never catch on!

Back in the 80's. Thief/Assassin.
Our regular Dungeon Master transferred back to the US, so I took over as DM for a couple of years. We played marathon sessions. We would start on Friday night and play until Sunday morning.
A few members of our group got reassigned, and the group dwindled. Then I got reassigned back to the US. I haven't played since.

I saw 'AD&D' and translated that as 'Accidental Death and Dismemberment'. I guess that happens in Dungeons and Dragons, too.

It's a roll playing game. You sit around a table with a bunch of your friends. One person describes the world and the things in it. A lot of things are random controlled by dice rolls. You have different obstacles and monsters. All battle results again are controlled by dice rolls. It's a great way to be someone else and spend time with friends. A lot of laughter and even some curses.
