Title: Listen to music on our Discord
Post by: Susan on March 21, 2026, 01:22:19 PM
Dear Forum Family,

I'm excited to announce that we now have a music service on our Discord server! I've added the Rythm music bot and set up two dedicated channels for it — a #music-requests text channel and a Music voice channel for listening to the music.

For those who aren't familiar, Rythm is one of the most well-known music bots in the Discord world. It was originally shut down back in 2021 after a legal dispute with YouTube, but it relaunched in 2024 with proper music licensing deals so artists are fairly compensated when their songs are played. It's now a fully integrated Discord Activity with high-quality streaming, and it works beautifully.

I've invested in a Rythm Premium account for our server, which means everyone who joins a listening session automatically gets premium benefits. That includes ad-free unlimited listening, higher audio quality at 320kbps, full song lyrics, audio effects like bass boost and speed controls, and an unlimited queue. You don't need to pay for anything — my subscription covers everyone in the session.

How to use it:

Join the Music voice channel to listen. Head over to #music-requests and use the /play command followed by a song name, artist name, or YouTube video/playlist URL. Rythm will queue it up and start playing. You can also manage the queue from the web at rythm.fm.

If you don't want to be notified about new messages in any channel, you can right-click the channel and turn notifications off for it.

Useful commands:

/play — Play a track (search term or link)
/playskip — Skip the current song and play your request
/playtop — Add a song to the top of the queue
/pause — Pause the current song
/resume — Resume playback
/join — Summon the bot to the voice channel
/disconnect — Disconnect the bot
/search — Search for tracks
/like — Like or unlike the current track
/liked — View your liked tracks
/history — View listening history

Type /help in Discord for the full command list.

Music has a way of bringing people together, and I thought this would be a wonderful addition to our community spaces. Whether you want background music while chatting, want to share a song that means something to you, or just want to hang out and listen with friends — the Music channel is there for you.

If you haven't joined our Discord yet, you can connect through the Chat link above the forums or at https://discord.gg/x5KZH4VhTJ

Enjoy the tunes!

With love!
