The weekend has landed! This used to mean 48 hours of alchohol and chemical fueled partying into the small hours, chill out session through the day before it all started again.........
Tomorrow I think I'm going to a plant nursery (Not quite the same!)🤪🤪
What is everyone else up to?

Rainy wet furry meet tomorrow then nothing is my plan. Feel like I will just fall asleep to be honest. The week is just draining.

I have been informed unofficially that we are having a Community Meeting to discuss the new owners of the community. I don't know if that is this weekend or next week. I also don't know whether it will be the Property Manager telling us what to expect or if we are preparing for a revolt. It should be interesting if it happens.

Being in the military meant moving a lot. I have spent most of my adult life renting. What I have found is that in many cities and states, a change in Management companies or a change of ownership comes with a rent increase. So that is what we are expecting.
As I was typing this, I got a call from the Property Manager. The new owners will be looking at the properties on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and they would like to review a few of the rental homes to get a sense of their general condition.
I suppose I should put away my camping and mining gear so they don't trip over it.

I used to be off my face on booze and speed every weekend. Can't do it now I have zero tolerance to alcohol and haven't had a drink since early December.
My weekend? Housework, cooking corned beef hash, washing hair. Helping a friend with her first bike, finding out how to fit the centre stand on her Honda Varadero 125. Modelmaking, finishing the Spitfire and starting the Tiger Moth. Birdwatching and being an armchair detective. Church on Sunday and looking for a new bike for me, probably a Honda or Royal Enfield 350 as I have no upper body strength at 68 and found my Harley Davidson Sportster a real heavyweight. A bit of woodcrafting making a hairstick.
Not very exciting but I enjoy my life

Some weeks I was out Wednesday though to Saturday, we would all meet up in this Belgian bar in the afternoon on Sunday to chill out. Student night cheap drinks on monday then Tuesday and Wednesday off to recover before it started again! Some of the clubs involved overnight travel to other cities. Work was just an inconvenience inbetween nights out!
I had friends back then!
The thought of attempting any of that now makes me shudder!

I used to love it as a kid. I've managed to break most of them now but I still have my pride and joy 1:72 scale Mosquito that I made and a Sea Harrier both Tamiya models.

Built the 1/72 Airfix Mosquito PRxvi as a colourful American reconnaissance and weather reporter, allover PRU blue with a red tail and blue spinners. Its taught me a lot more patience!

Since I was of age I worked full time, as an electrician. Ive been doing it for more than 40 years now. I think I'm pretty good at it. Then marriage, kids and family life. No real time to party. I do drink only days i don't work. Never got into the chemical entertainment.
I'm boring, I'm ok with it

To be honest even younger I didn't party much. Maybe once a month in my 20s. But when I did it was extremely messy. I remember nearly feinting at the sink on monday morning after going out Saturday night. But then I mixed all sorts of 'things'. Those were the only times in my life I have ever felt truely at ease eg no anxiety.

Never mix and match. Bad things happen. As you found out

I stopped drinking (except for an occasional glass of wine) back when I was still in my 20s. It just wasn't fun. I'd volunteer to be designated driver just to avoid the peer pressure.
This weekend is our last before the serious packing starts. We'll relax tomorrow and go for a walk in the bird sanctuary. Sunday is Earth Day with our favourite save-the-forest group. We'll do a nature walk with them and then enjoy free soup with out new neighbours.

Most likely work on my marketing campaign for my book. There is a topless pool party. Though presenting as male it would cost me 100 to get in. So I'll probably not go, but I'm thinking on it.
