I forget what it's called, but it's a slow roasted lamb shanks with all these great spices. I'd get it with black beans and rice.
Also for breakfast chilaquilas.
Obviously you found my weakness. I get down with some good Latin food

When my wife and I took Spanish after testing we'd go out to Mexican food.
When things get real stressful we talk about running away to Costa Rica. She'd change her name to Isabella. I was going to be Raul. I have to change that now maybe Constence

I only count Taco Bell after a night of drinking. Just make sure to chew well. The taco shells hurt in your nose. That's a bad memory

My wife and I were in Mexico a few years ago and I loved the food. My wife had street corn and mow anytime we go to Mexican restaurants she compares.
I had a margarita made right there on the beach. It was awesome.

Gallo pinto is a wonderful breakfast as well. Though I lean more to the chilaquiles. With a strong cup of coffee.

I like quesadillas, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas. But I love chimichangas and have them once or twice a week.
While visiting Mexico, I found some wonderful dishes. I have told the story of the Chicken's A** Sandwich that was SO good!

While working on alarms in Illinois, I met a family who owned an authentic Mexican restaurant. Yeah, they all claim to be authentic, but this one was different. I met the owner and his family, who all work there. After finishing the installation work, the owner gave me a gift certificate for a dinner for two.
That was the most wonderful meal I have ever had! I never went to another Mexican restaurant but that one for the next five years. The food and the service were amazing.

My wife and I where living in the west and she had a big CME in Orlando. We found a nudist resort near her conference. We found an empanadas restaurant near the resort and went on the first day. So, while my wife is at the conference I'm laying naked at the pool. Doing nakedness pickleball, basically naked alot. I get real dark real fast all over and don't burn easily. A few days later we go back to the same restaurant and the hostess looks at me and rattles off in Spanish some type of greeting and other things. She thought I was South American. I held up my hand and said two please
Shortly after that I started learning Spanish. Im still not good but a can get what I need

The menu in the local Chuy's TexMex is full of amazing food. I am partial to their Creamy Green Chile sauce on almost everything. Chips and salsa are proper precursors to many a good meal.
I am most at home in small independent Mexican food restaurants. Ones that serve rellanos fried in light egg white batter are the best.
My mother used to make a green chile beef stew with onions and potatoes. Her secret included enough green chile it was the most common vegetable.

I lived in San Diego 38 years. The locals often say "don't trust anyone that doesn't like Mexican food". There's some truth to that statement. Good Mexican really is irresistible.
I like nearly every Mexican dish. But my favorite is fish tacos. Baja style (beer-battered) or Sonoran grilled. Both are excellent. And in the case of grilled fish, quite healthy. Add black beans and rice for sides. Bahia Don Bravo in La Jolla and Brigantine Del Mar are top spots.

San Diego has some of the best Mexican food outside of Mexico.
In Florida you get a lot of Cuban and Puerto Rican.

San Diego is very close to Mexico. I wish their beaches were less polluted, a lot because of waste down a river coming from Mexico.

Even the beach sand isn't safe in IB. Further north, it's better. Plenty of surfers and beach goers in the beach communities north of downtown SD.

They open a bag of Doritos chips, add taco meat, then you add your toppings (lettuce, tomato, etc.) and eat it out of the bag. They're yummy!

Street tacos are usually served on a corn tortilla shell, not out of a bag. But they cost more.
If you are ever in Rapid City, SD, watch for a red truck for Malissa's Frybread near the parks. A Native American who makes excellent Indian Tacos. Instead of a tortilla shell, she makes them with Indian flatbread. They are so good! People from all over track her on FB to see where she will be set up next so they can get some.
