What are your favorite "Asian style" foods?

Rice?  Noodles?  Soups?   Sushi?   Curry?   Nori?  Eels?  Blowfish?  Chop Suey?

Chow Mein?   Moo Goo Gai Pan?   Etc.

I will try any of it, except the shell fish. I'm not big on sushi, I have no problem with the individual items. Just pit it together and no thanks.

There isn't much asian food I don't like to be honest. Theres a lot to like about it.

Nothing wrong with squid if it's cooked right. Not so keen when it's gone rubbery.

Probably Thai and Indian are my favourite as I've had more exposure to that cuisine. Japanese is tasty everytime I try it but haven't tried it that often to be fair.

Oh squid is really nice but like Sarah says if cooked properly. I must say when i spent weeks working in China I was fed all sorts by the suppliers. I've eaten chickens feet too!

Prior to my food allergy i had abalone.  It wasn't done well and had the taste and texture of an old tire. One that drove in an old pasture

It is very unusual, and can be difficult to take. In California there is rules on how big and small they can be and certain areas you have to free dive to get them.

Please feel free to use the translator. I have many times 😂

Abalone has one big shell.  The shell can be polished and its inside can look very pretty.

The shell can also be very thick.

Abalone fishing has been banned in California for another ten years, and they don't allow imports either.  They do have a aquaculture industry in California.

I like Miko brand miso soup.  I've used the foil packet of miso to make miso salmon.

I like fried potstickers, and NOT deep fried, but pan fried.  They must be crispy at least on one side.

If they are soft, only in the Won Ton soup.

Marion,

I do not remember the brand but I tried an instant packet of Red Miso soup mix and a cup of boiling water.  Pouring that hot soup over a cup of cooked rice and eating the miso rice soup was a tasty experience.  The brand is sold in 24 packs on Amazon and maybe in other quantities.

I found a single packet at a hotel breakfast buffet in various cities where many Asians travel to, and I liked it.  They also would typically have rice and 1/4 sheets of Nori (seaweed sheets, as they would use for sushi).

Stir fry is amazing with just a few ingredients like that. An easy but very tasty meal.

Beef in black bean sauce, char soy if I have a take away (not had one for 10 years!) . Packet of sweet and sour sauce and make my own stir fry with noodles, quick and easy.

There are many types of Asian noodles.  I have tried a number of them, but ai really do not remember the names of many.  Some are rice noodles, some are buckwheat noodles, some are fat like Udon, then there are Lo Mein and Ramen noodles.
