Title: Sick again?

Two for two now. I went out yesterday to pay some bills (car tags and such) and swung by Sam's Club to grab groceries while I was out. Roughly 26 hours later, I'm feeling a sore throat coming on. The last time I went to Sam's Club, I also started getting sick the very next day — and that one dragged out for over two weeks.
I don't know if it's the crowds, the air handling, the carts, or just rotten luck — but the pattern is too clean to ignore. Same store, same timeline, same outcome. Twice in a row isn't a coincidence; it's a data point.
And no matter how this one plays out, I'm done rolling the dice at Sam's. Mask goes on every single time I walk through those doors from here on out. I'd rather look paranoid in the checkout line than spend another two weeks flat on my back just because I wanted to save a few bucks on bulk paper towels. To protect my housemate Debbie, I'm actually wearing a mask as I type this — just to be safe.

Susan,
You may wish to use antiseptic wipes on the shopping cart handles wherever you use the carts.
That may help, as well as the masks. Do not wipe your eyes directly with your hands. Touch or push buttons with your knuckles. Wash hands a lot.

I know how you feel.
I have a pretty strong immune system and rarely get sick. But when I do, it is almost always after a trip to Walmart. In fact, I'll be masked and sanitizing tomorrow to restock my fridge.
Lots of rest and clear fluids.
Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Maybe you've become allergic to shopping!!!! Nightmare!!
I rarely get sick unsually one summer cold and one winter cold usually at the change of seasons for some reason but other than that I can't remember the last time I was properly ill with anything. I do get horrible migraines though.
Aircraft can sometimes cause me to pick something up too due to the constantly circulating air.
Quite a few people still used face masks so it's not too unusual. Hope you get well soon Susan.

Sorry to hear that. When I had eye surgery I think I was the only patient wearing a mask.
But, since I'd be in an enclosed area with people who had to be there I thought it was prudent.
The laser was for only five minutes. Of course they had to do the scans and make a diagnosis.
I was there for only two hours.
