Trump celebrates Pride Month by raging against "transgender insanity" in official statement

The White House called transgender people "insane" in an official press release on the last day of Pride Month. Donald Trump did not issue a proclamation celebrating Pride Month this year or last year, breaking from his predecessors.

The press release, intended to celebrate the Supreme Court's decision in the two trans sports ban cases, bears the headline: "Supreme Court Bolsters President Trump's Push to Eliminate Transgender Insanity."

The Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 decision that the Equal Protection Clause does not bar states from banning trans girls and women from participating in school sports in the cases, B.J.P. vs. West Virginia and Little v. Hecox, effectively allowing the 27 states that ban trans kids from sports to continue to do so. The Court also ruled unanimously that Title IX does not protect trans students' rights to play sports.

The June 30 release praises the Court's decision as "a landmark victory for common sense, biological reality, and for the millions of women and girls who deserve a level playing field" and says it will embolden the president's "efforts to restore biological reality throughout the federal government and protect the rights of women and girls." Conservatives often frame their opposition to trans people's rights as protecting cis girls and women, even though there is no evidence that trans people pose a threat to them.

Can we just skip ahead to the bunker scene?

Since Doctor Trump does not have a degree in mental health and is not a member of any professional mental health organization, it would appear that his expertise in making such a diagnosis of insanity stems from "it takes one to know one"

Lori, while I wholeheartedly agree with the basic premise of the counterpoint that you're making, I feel compelled to ask:

"I know you are but what am I?"

A guy telling the world that people like me are insane. But, he blows his stack and throws stuff like a three year old. He threatens to nuke the planet every week. But, yeah, I'm insane. Got it.

Donny's rants are of course a whole load of crap, but he does not do the "trans being insane" or most other weird rants, to convince normal people about it or to tell the truth or even pretend to tell the truth. What he does is, he affirms the views of the people that provide the base for his (well) popularity - the people that already are leaning that way and that are, for lack of a better word, gullible into accepting those rants as something to believe in.

It seems the trans "issue" is a shiny thing the republicans use to distract us from the real issues. But don was bred to be a bigot (see Fred trump) so he really loves this one. It's much easier that picking on people of color, since there are so many and he has to deal with them in person quite often. But he hates everyone who isn't rich and white. (he's an atheist) He likes jews because they "take care of his money" and know how to earn it, which is something he admires. He is a disgusting human; moreover he's the most incompetent leader America has ever seen.

You'll notice that I never capitalize his name. He doesn't deserve it. When he finally goes away, my wife and I are going to rent a bouncy house for the neighbors to play in, in the joy that American might still have a shot at becoming great again.
