The mother of Daisy Davis (not her real name) says the story about her trans daughter masturbating in a stall next to a classmate in the girls' restroom at Boise High School is false, as well as "reckless and irresponsible."
And it refuses to die.
In February 2025, Davis's classmate reported her to administrators, accusing her of pointing her feet toward her from an adjacent bathroom stall and masturbating loudly, Idaho Education News reports.
The classmate, identified in court documents as Jane Doe, waited for Davis at the bathroom sinks to confront her. Davis denied the accusation and said she was unconsciously stimming, defined as physical and/or verbal activity to release energy for people on the spectrum like her. She was just scrolling on her phone, she said.
Jane Doe didn't accept the explanation and reported Davis to the principal's office. Doe heard "deep grunting noises" coming from the adjacent stall and saw "two black shoes pointed toward her" as the student masturbated, she claimed. Anti-trans crusaders in the state have been running with Doe's story ever since.
The backdrop to what Davis's mother calls the "humiliating" bathroom drama is Idaho's ban on transgender students using school restrooms that align with their gender identity. Senate Bill 1100 was passed in 2023 but was put on hold when students at Boise High sued the state over the constitutionality of the law, with Davis as one of the plaintiffs.

These people are completely ridiculous. I never saw any dudes cranking it in the restroom. I can guarantee you that no trans girl would do that, either. It's like these morons don't know anything about how trans people actually think or feel... oh... wait.
