Title: Speak In Similish
Post by: Laura Squirrel on August 02, 2026, 10:56:40 AM
I started to play The Sims in the spring of last year. I've mentioned it in the blog thread. So, let's kick this off, shall we?

*****Scene: A tragedy has befallen the household with the death of the family matriarch.*********

Erica Preston: "Dee nah. Endanent, endanela croots." places her hand on the shoulder of Laura Smith
Laura Smith: "Neeb. Ka-poy. Nerbastant, endanela croots." sniffles

LMAO! I'm dying here. I had to restart "Tuning My Guitar" since I couldn't stop laughing. Melanie deserves better than that.

Sul sul, blarffle wibba dag dag
Blevin shoo glamma wibba flibba
Says, "Mibbsy kerflopp warglu
'Cause da building's flibberfloo
You're gonna help me buy City Hall"

But we can, you know we can
But we can, you know we can
Let's lynch da landlord, man

I tell 'em, "Turn on da wibba"
I tell 'em, "Turn on da flibba"
Tells me, "All you ever do is grumbloo," yeah
Then they search da place when I'm not here

But we can, you know we can
We can, you know we can
Let's lynch da landlord
Let's lynch da landlord, man

LOL You can have pets in The Sims. But, I don't bother. I have my pets in GTA 5. A black cat named Kathy and a Golden Retriever named Dotty.

I skipped the Cats & Dogs and a lot of the expansion packs that don't interest me. Like Laundry Day? Are you kidding? I hate laundry! Bust The Dust? I hate vacuuming! LOL

I also skipped mermaids, werewolves, vampires, aliens, spellcasters, and modded the crap out of it, so I could have a "normal" town with "normal" townies.

🤣

The only packs I bought were the Downtown one and the Businesses one. Downtown was kind of buggy. The Business one was WICKED SICK!

Since I was really, really, really bad at working on houses, I had a few properties that were now dirt cheap since I had screwed them up so badly. I bulldozed the lots, and I have an actual neighborhood based on the Get Along Gang fanfiction.

Obviously, there is the family house. There is an open-mic comedy club called The Konrad (in memory of the late Kathy Conrad), an artist space called Creative Delights. That is run by Patricia Peterson. She's the cousin of Portia Porter. An arcade called the Pixel Palace that is run by Doris Douglas, the cousin of Dotty French. Then, there is Qwerty's, a computer lab (or whatever you want to call it. I don't know. LOL), that is run by Erica Preston.

The two things that I have the girls do the most are painting and working on stand-up comedy. I would set up 4 easels on the back deck, and everyone would work on stuff. I found that it was much cooler than giving them an actual job. Portia is probably the most advanced with stand-up comedy. She is pretty good at crowd work. Although she does have some routines that need to be punched up.

But I haven't been playing it as much. GTA 5 fills a cathartic need that The Sims obviously won't. But I still love it, of course.

Eve Silver doesn't have a job. She is a Master Chef and gardener. She spends all of her time tending a very large garden and makes her money from selling produce. For a while, she had a vineyard and made wine, which was quite lucrative. But I just found the wine prices to be unrealistic. She could get by just selling a few bottles a week, and made enough to buy a huge lot, bulldoze, and rebuild her current house with garden. Sul sul!

This is from the A.C. song, "I'm Really Excited About The Upcoming David Buskin Concert". One of the few song titles I could say on here. Especially from the Seth/Josh era. I LOST IT when I saw that one of the words translated to "Narf". Animaniacs rules!

Mibbsy wibba flibble dag to zibby logga kabin, mibbsy gribble starta pit durba furst song, mibbsy gribble requesta "Papa You Were A Sailor", mibbsy gribble bringa tre lighters to shoo. Mibbsy wuzza plumbob psyched to see Morbid Angel, mibbsy wuzza plumbob psyched to see Upsidedown Cross, mibbsy wuzza plumbob psyched to see Al Stewart, but narf as much as David Buskin, David Buskin, David Buskin is comin' to my town. He wuzza much betta with Batteau, but he's still heavia than Six Feet Under.Mibbsy wibba glibble 5 zibba noobloo dag dag shoo flibble, An' fribble wumba zazzle, krackle, an' dustle. Mibbsy plumbob warglu see Judas Priest, Mibbsy plumbob warglu see Black Sabbath, Mibbsy plumbob warglu see Phranc, But narf as wumba as David Buskin, David Buskin, David Buskin is wibblin' to my zibba.

Erica and Portia are totally killer in the kitchen. Some of the houses had a massive cupcake factory machine in an outdoor show space. I will post a pic of it on my blog. Dotty can't bake to save her life. Everything comes out burnt. Maybe THAT is why she is so consistently angry. LOL I'm not kidding. It's hilarious.
