Title: Guilt over some music purchases?

I have bought music my entire life. I never got into streaming services. I recently thought about my music collection and wondered how many of the artists hate people like me. I keep most of my music ripped to my computer so I can listen to it on my phone or while I work. I scanned my collection using AI to check the artists, and so far, only two came back as vocally against trans people. Do you worry about this? In the current climate, I am thinking more critically about what I spend my money on. I don't want to fund people who hate people like me.
I used to like Alice Cooper. I also have a Ted Nugent compilation I bought when I was a teenager. Those are the two it found, which was a relief. Have you found bands or singers that hate people like us and that you can't listen to anymore?

I don't spend much time listening to music anymore. I am no good at multitasking, and when I listen to music I like, I focus on the music and the lyrics, and my one brain cell can't focus on anything else.
That is an interesting experiment, though. I wonder how many of them are really hateful people.
In Germany, I went to the Monsters of Rock concert in 1985 at Heilbronn. I had been a fan of Van Halen, and many others who were there that weekend, too. Too many to name them all. An incident happened with David Lee Roth, and the entire stadium turned their backs on him and sat on the ground, ignoring him. He didn't even finish the song and walked off stage.
After that, Ozzie came out on stage and let everyone know how grateful he was to be there. He said he would never forget that he was where he was because of us. I have loved him ever since that moment. RIP Oz.

How great that you thought of this! I'm going to do the same thing. I believe how we spend our money can be as impactful as how we vote.

My favorite artist is Carly Rae Jepsen, a "one hit wonder" to most, has actually walked through the many doors that mega success temporarily created for her. Modeling clothes for Kohl's for example. This diversified income stream has allowed her to be ally when less financially well off artists might back away from the controversy. She is set for life without being too famous and unable to live a normal life.

Bought some Skrewdriver singles in the 70s. This was before they turned into Nazi f/wits.

This might sound like sacrilidge to some but I rarely listen to the lyrics themselves. I enjoy music for the way it makes me feel. I can be just as happy listening to an instrumental track. The voice for me is just another instrument. I'm sure the artists themselves would be horrified to hear that!
I have no idea of the political leanings of any of the artists whose work I own. I have a very eclectic music taste though so I've no doubt there are probably a few bad eggs amongst them.

Tbh most of what I listen to now is by queer / trans artists. Not sure about everything but trans/queer people have always been part of the house music scene from day one. A few bad eggs, but generally very accepting.

Also guilty of buying Ted Nugent's Cat Scratch Fever in the 70s.
Didn't buy any of their stuff but I did enjoy a lot of Tailgunner even though the vocalist is a massive transphobic nonce. He's currently dismissed after being charged with r*ping his ex.
Also was a massive Saxon fan in the 80s and met them after a show in Blackburn. Their original bass player is in prison for offences against children.

I used to own a bunch of Ted Nugent but I wouldn't give him a dime now.

I just worry I am supporting people that drive hate toward me. I am trying to be more conscious when I spend my money. The Dollyrots are one of my favorites and are allies so they are great to support.
