Do you enjoy eating cod?
If you have a good breading for it, let me know. Also, would that breading be appropriate for frying or baking?

About once a month, an 'On The Hook' food truck comes to our area. Susan and I really enjoy their cod fish and chips.

The height of British summer is fish and chips at the beach. The seagulls know this, and are expert thieves. They're generally known as "chip (or ice cream) stealing <insert expletive of choice here>.
Today we saved a nice long chip from our lunch and I waited with my camera while Megan held the chip out. We weren't disappointed!

Some restaurants near birds offer optional "meal insurance" to replace meals for diners whose meals are stolen by birds.

Alaskan Pollock I think is what is typically used for McDonald's fish sandwich in the USA.

I do not care for the McDonald's fish sandwich. There are many better fish sandwiches.

Ever use panko breading for fish or shrimp? How did it work out?

Worst I had was as I left the chippy with an open wrap of fish and chips, 3 paces out the door and one of the flying bar stools dropped a turd right in the middle of it! I swear I heard it laughing!

Quote from: ChrissyRyan on Today at 01:54:05 PMEver use panko breading for fish or shrimp? How did it work out?I have used panko for plaice and lemon sole before I just seasoned some plain flour on a plate with a bit of lemon zest in too, dipped the fish in the flour, dipped it in beaten egg then into the panko breadcrumbs then shallow fryed. Serve with a wedge of lemon and mushy peas. Nice!

With prawns I usually just do them in a chinese batter if I bother at all. Never tried with breadcrumbs.

I just like a dredge of flour if I'm cooking my own.

We make this sacrifice to appease the stomach gods. May the digestive juices flow in this holy sacrament of the potato!
