Title: Bratwurst
Post by: big kim on August 27, 2026, 02:46:18 PM
Bought some bratwurst today. Never had them before. What do you eat them with besides putting in a hot dog bun?

I like them grilled, then served on a bun with mustard. A side dish of French Fries and a salad of some kind, like macaroni salad, garden salad, or potato salad, instead of fries.

Been a while since I had one. Sounds yummy!

Two of my favorite sides. I haven't had those since I left Schwabenland in 1985.

Only time I ate one was from a vending truck at Gator Nationals at Gainesville, spent the next hour throwing up!

LOL Oh, my God. That sounds awful. The only time I suffered from food poisoning was when I bought some raisins from the Dollar Tree. The three days after consuming them transformed my bathroom into a mini apartment.

I make Spätzle now and then, as side to Schnitzel or whatever other German/Austrian dish I am making.

AND...?

How were they? What did you think?
Hopefully, no urgent need for the bathroom or a bucket.
