Title: Woman to woman connections
Post by: Jillian-TG on August 28, 2026, 05:58:01 PM
I've only recently experienced just how well women relate and connect with each other when out in public. I've posted a thread about me taking a week to live 24/7 as a woman while on a cruise with my wife. It's been an interesting experience. I noticed how often other women would smile and make eye contact when out and about the ship. They would offer compliments and say nice things. It felt like there's a hidden sisters club. And I loved being a part of it. It was amazing to have a woman tell me that I looked beautiful or being told they liked my jewelry etc. I loved being part of the sisters club.

This morning the trip came to an end and I changed back into drab mode as a man. Yuck. 🤮 What struck me immediately was that I suddenly became invisible to the women. It's only been a few hours but I already miss that aspect.

I agree, women will come up and talk to me about my cloths or anything. As a man that was never the case. I think they are afraid to be interpreted as coming on to the men, where with women its just being friendly.

Ladies, Gina and Jillian, are your experiences of woman-woman interactions depending on actually passing as a woman or is it more or less the same experience even if not certainly passing?

And I apologize beforehand, if my question is offensive or stupid.

I don't think I actually pass on a consistent basis. I'm in the "almost" pass category. I don't look like I'm out there cross dressing but I'm not fooling everyone either. I do dress like the average woman and nothing over the top. So I "clean up ok" as a woman but still, most people will clock me as a trans woman and maybe only a small percentage will think I'm cis.

I've found most women to be open when I am presenting as a woman - even if they clock me. When presenting as a male it's a very different experience.

Having said that - I had a couple of experiences this past week with women where I got the sense that they thought I was cis gender but I could be wrong. I wasn't asking so not sure.

Anna, I found the same thing recently on a cruise. I can't pass but equally I wasn't presenting cis.

I had more female interaction than I ever had in my life.

Thank you, Ladies!

It's not the passing as such I was curious about, but whether the "presenting as a woman" also means being included in the woman-woman interactions. And it seems like it does.

As I've written earlier I've had a few really nice evenings when just sitting with the Ladies and where my only femme attribues have been my long-ish hair, femme-ish perfume and being Anna-soft and interested in their discussions.

The "Womanhood" has its nice perks.

I've never been 'one of the boys' and I don't enjoy all male company.

Most of my friends at university were girls (platonically). I think they were happy to have my company as 'safe' male protection (they all had boyfriends back home) and probably thought I was gay (which I'm not, although I never had a real girlfriend).

My workplace was predominantly female and we all played sports and socialised together. As an older member of my running club, I was more comfortable running with a group of mainly younger women rather that the slower men of my own age.

I now have no close male friends and I socialise with my wife's friends. They are happy to include me and I'm happy to try and contribute to the female gossip.

I truly hope to be accepted among female social circles when I transition. I have had a strong dislike of the "blokes down the pub" culture, I always found myself wanting to chat to the girls in the group. same in family settings I was always really close with my female cousins and spent all family parties with them. As a heating engineer I was always chatting on endlessly with the women of the house I couldn't help myself, I can be a right chatterbox when I get going! Woman to woman connections are just deeper, more meaningful and there is no bravado, no machismo, no p*ss taking or practical joking, it's really nice.

At work I am in a team with five other women in an admin role. The surveyors and managers are all men. I am treated as just one of the girls even though they don't know I'm trans (at least I don't think they have figured it out!). I absolutely love my job because of it.

This has been my experience too.

Even when I was married (all three times), I preferred to hang out with the women rather than the guys. The guys were not offended, as I was considered "safe".

It even got to the point where I was told that I was one of the girls and was often invited out with them for Girls Night Out. Again, the guys didn't mind having their wives chaperoned, and I was happy to be part of the sisterhood.

Looking back, I was the same way in school. NOW, I know why!

This seems to be a common theme.I have the same connections. I just feel more comfortable with the women socially.

I don't "hate" socializing with men but it's just so different and refreshing with women. They just seem to have a secret bond of sisterhood. I do love that aspect.

I do seem to get on better with women those rare occasions I get to spend any significant time with people. I suppose at furry meets and such I get on with both men and women. But people in the fandom are not often typical men - femboys, geeks and non conforming tend to be not typically masculine!

Yes to all of these.
While I certainly enjoy the company of women very much, I don't hate socializing with men. It's just that unless it is the "right" men there is a tendency for things to get a bit "bro" and that style is quite unbearable to me.
I have a select few really, really good male friends. With them there is never ever any bro talk. They are soft and sensitive and very pro their wives, their daughters and women, in all aspects.

I suspect that this becomes interactions between Fursonas, not necessarily the people beneath. Or am I mistaken?

Conversations are very tough in a fursuit so we chat most put of suit. In suit its booping noses and padding each others paws mostly hehe

Trans woman to cis woman acceptance and connection will vary greatly, just as we all vary greatly. When I was a mid 30's single parent, trying to look male, I was invited into a mothers group, and told that they could sense that I was sensitive and not at all pushy, and they were very comfortable around me. We rarely get others honest opinions from our sisters, but in the last year, I had lunch with another older lady who told me that, while many guessed I might be trans, they also sensed that I was sensitive and not pushy, so they felt comfortable interacting with me as a woman.

I am a member of a few women's only groups, and women dominant groups, and have been well included in conversations,,, to a point. I noticed that women talk to me about many things they wouldn't talk to a man about, recipes, caring for children, and shopping, but they don't include me when the conversation is about men. I have also noticed my female friends talk to each other about women's reproductive health, but never to me. And fair enough, I have never experienced menses, or had a husband who dominated me, so I simply can't join some conversations.

I realise that I am not cis, I do not have the life experiences of the cis women I socialise with, I cannot relate to all of cis shared concerns. But I am included with most of the conversations and I am very honoured to have the interactions that I do have.

Hugs,

Allie
