Do you ladies use a seasonal colour palette to choose your wardrobe?

I was rather unfamiliar with this concept until I came home recently with a dark maroon jumper I'd bought at a charity shop. I was very surprised when my wife told me to take it back "as it isn't your colour". I knew that she'd been using her own seasonal colour palette for many years since she went on a course about it but I'd never considered that it might be applied to me.

She then helped me to find my own seasonal colour palette, soft summer (predominantly pastel blues and pinks, soft white, light charcoal, silver, jewellery, etc) and I was pleased to find that it matches many of the androgynous coloured clothes I have recently been buying as I get rid of my dark male stuff.

Considering that I'm not out to my wife, this seems like a huge step forward.

I don't really bother to be honest. What shows up in the shops at fall is usually coordinated to the season so just buy what I like!

Not colour pallete no, but I change my wardrobe depending on the seasons like most women do.

The title of this concept is a bit misleading. It doesn't actually relate to dressing for the actual seasons. It is a shorthand way of naming the range of colours that would suit you at any time of the year, regardless of the actual season, based on:

Your skin undertone, whether it is warm (golden/yellow/olive) or cool (pink/blue /red).
How light or dark your overall features (skin, hair and eyes) are.
And whether your features are bright and clear or soft and muted.

Once you know your palette, the colours apply to all the year round, in spring, summer, autumn or winter. It does work, try googling it for a colour chart example.

My Irish skin is the same color as the background of this post. I don't even make the chart! 🤣

Oh yeah, heard of this before and believe it works for sure.  But I just buy colours I like to be honest. I never really wanted to be a high effort woman, hence no make up most of the time. Also would probably limit me too much to colours that I'm not big into.

I think if I looked pretty I would try.
