Donald Trump's Attorney General claims 'secret school gender transitions' are taking place, with no evidence

US President Donald Trump's Justice Department says they're suing a Kansas public school district for allegedly "facilitating the secret 'transitioning' of children's 'gender identity'".

However, as People reported, the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division's lawsuit does not allege that a student's 'secret transition' ever occurred. In fact, the lawsuit doesn't even allege that schools are facilitating medications or medical procedures to underage students.

Instead, the lawsuit is about the school district allowing trans students to use the name and gender identity they identify with without parental input.

Trump's Attorney General Todd Blanche appeared on Fox News to claim that 'secret school gender transitions' were a "pandemic that's happening in school districts around the country". However, Blanche offered no evidence to back his claim.

"The fact we're talking about a school district keeping from parents something as fundamental as a child's name," Blanche continued, "we had to sue, we had to sue this school district to get them to do the right thing – is shocking."

According to the school's guidelines: "If any staff member learns a student is transgender or gender non-conforming, that information should be relayed to the school principal without delay.

"The school principal should discuss available accommodations and resources with the student or the student's parent or legal guardian, including the availability of a planning meeting. If it becomes known that the student does not want the student's parent or legal guardian included at this stage, that request will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis."

That is what you expect of an expert propagandist.  They are careful not to say something that is literally false, so they can't be charged with perjury if it comes up in court.  But they say it in such a way as to provoke the desired emotional, irrational response they are looking for.

Yes, changing their names and/or pronouns is a form of "transitioning".  If an adult here on the forum said they were doing that, we would congratulate them for starting their transition.  And, yes, there is secrecy, because they are not telling the parents if the student so requests.

But wording it the way they did is calculated to provoke images of clandestine surgery performed in the teachers' lounge.  Just propaganda games.

It's actually alarming and disturbing how much the Trump administration is focusing on the trans community. It's like a paranoia they have. And because they are using as a distraction it will get worse if they face more problems in terms of economy etc.

Scary times ahead. I dreamt last night that we were being evacuated, but when I got on the bus, I learned we were being deported. I woke up wondering if I was in Venezuela.

Good thing I had a therapist appointment this morning.

Oh, I know. It's so friggin' screwed up how this timeline is, and that I was predicting this a long, long time ago. Plus, so many ignorant and oblivious people are walking around like everything is normal. There is absolutely nothing that is normal in our society, and I don't mean that from a faux-moralistic standpoint.

I will NOT go quietly. No. Nu uh. I took enough crap from people for so much of my life. I am willing to make my last stand in my doorway. I can't afford a firearm (plus, I have no experience on that front). But when you finally make someone snap when the rubber meets the road, they won't care about the aftermath, and I just friggin' don't.
