Title: Hey thanks everybody...
Post by: lady amarant on January 24, 2008, 11:50:58 PM
Thanks for listening to me vent yesterday - It was just one of those days where the camel breaks the straw's back, ya know.

Having a sleep over things and watching the world news this morning placed things back into perspective and just reminded me how lucky I am - GID is a cakewalk compared to all the misery and hopelessness out in the world at large. Besides, I have to stick around if I'm gonna change the world, right?

Even the GID itself, in an odd way, is a blessing. It drove me to find philosophy, art and science, to explore different religions and cultures for answers, and gives me a so much perspective on just being human. As absolutely wrong as I feel in myself, it's made me a better person for it. I pity people who go through life without any adversity, 'cause they never grow. Even the self-destructive running away phase gave me a chance to live different parts of the world, and THAT will give you a lot of perspective...

So thanks again everybody. Might be offline for a few days, 'cause I need to get some stuff sorted out, most especially figure out how to rebuild a rather damaged career and personal life in 7-odd months, but don't worry - not going anywhere.

Love,

Simone

I to have found my GID a blessing.  It's amazing the information you learn when you are trying to find an answer for what is happening.  The religious, the philosophy the science.  It's mind blowing.  The ironic thing is though,  I was a very horrible student in school.  I feel I have learned more in the past two years than i did in my whole schooling process. 12+ years of it, lol.

Exactly, I'm so glad you came to this conclusion sometimes I have wondered if I was the only one thinking that way.
What ever is handed to us we still have the freedom of choice to either turn it into a positive learning and growing experience or a negative self pitying and destructive rut.
