It's sortta like they have this big billboard that says: "We don't want you."
Why in the world would we ever care to join? It's like the Log Cabin Republicans. I just can't fathom their logic for wanting to be a part of a political party who doesn't want them.

Should be interesting to see what they come up with. I wonder if they're going to have a little prayer in a side-box every time they use the word 'sexual'.
I'm sorry. That's terrible, and I do apologise... But I'm going to leave it in there anyway. :eusa_pray:

You're judging them without knowing them. I'm part of the ELCA, and we shall see what the draft says.

I suppose I am. Sorry. I've just had one too many Bibles shoved in my face recently.

I am MS Luthern and I have caught flack in the past about what I have been doing is gay when in reality I am abstaining from any sex untill I have come to a compleation in my transition before they knew about me the pastor and I had a talk and I quote him "he says that as long as we truly believe in the birth and the death of christ and repent for our sins that we will be saved " then came the discusion and it was refered as sodmy a sin in Gods eyes here I am a man switching to match my mental status of a woman and I do not want to have a lez relationship I am still gay because I was born a man so God goofed when he was making me or he was distracted by the thoughts of people like him as I see it God let this happen for a reason something for me to learn every thing he doese he does for a reason
that comes to the grater good is what I believe and I do not believe what I am correcting is a sin I think that there two sayings that come from the Bible " Judge not let you be judged " so who are we to judge each other let alone ourselfs it is gods place to do that then there is some thing like this "Take the bolder out of your own eye before you remove the pebal out of your neighbors " so I think that we were being told to worry about ourselfs not others
verry deep discussion that could go on for ever as I see it I am comfertable with what I believe and the Lords house is in my heart and that is were I pray I will let God be the judge of me not man
thanks
Kristin

Came across this quote in an essay I found at a Y!group I frequent a while ago - unfortunately the essay is anonymous, so I can't give credit, but I think it presents a very valid different take by religion:
I posted this in another thread a while ago, but I think it's very apt after reading Kristin's post.
Quote
When I asked a theologian about the ethic of the correction, I was told, "Because our imperfect world does not create perfect beings, illnesses and defects are parts of life. Medical science exists because God gives us the gifts of intelligence and skill to heal and correct. In light of these gifts from God, ethically, gender correction is the same as club-foot correction."
