Bassed on your smell they probably can...
I hadnt seen my dogs for months after starting HRT and it took them a while to remember me... this had never been a problem before but I smelled diffrent... (they kept on sniffing and sniffing me for what seemed like a week) There somewhat back to normal now, but there not quite as agressive with me any more :)

That's not entirely true, dogs are pack animals they respond attitudes, some times if you see a alpha male dog trying to hump another male dog it's not being homosexual it's because the other male has become submissive, same applies to alpha female dogs humping like male dogs, to be quite honest your dog doesn't care what you are as long as he is feed and given water.

I think if they went a while without seeing you it might take a little getting used to. True they are pack animals, but they also smell.....everything. If you smell different, they will know it. They may still know you but they will know something is different based on smell...especially if they have not seen you for a while.

Yeah I'm sure by the scent they can tell that you are a female. I know my cat can... she always purrs and is really comfortable, even more so then she was before, when I am around her. ;)

Many years ago, when I was all of 17 I dated a girl who was 16. Naturally I was curious about her anatomy and how it worked so we experimented and we both responded.
As soon as we got in her house for a nice good night the bloody dog came flying out of nowhere and tried to climb my hand. She told me to wash my hands and the dog settled down.
I saw a cause and effect between the sweet scent of a woman and the dog's behaviour.

Flew over lots of stuff

Going by my own dogs I think they judge a persons gender on mannerisms, movement and vocal tone. Sensitive human males are accepted better than agressive one's and the same goes with females.......so they wouldn't view a person any different on just image alone...

I don't really think your dogs would care much. You are god, after all!
Now if you had cats, then you'd just be staff, and they'd just be concerned by how this change would affect their feeding schedule...

I haven't been back home to my parents house in over a year. The last time I was home my parents dog that I grew up with was superrrrr happy to see me as she is very playful and loving even in her old age. That was all before HRT.
I plan on going home this summer to have a heart to heart with my parents and I am more curious to see how my dog reacts to me than how my parents freak. My step brother, daisys (my dog) favorite brother, used to play with him more than any of my other brothers and sisters. After he got a good job and a girlfriend he got really cocky and really wasn't the same person. The next time that he was home daisy wouldn't go near him except begrudgingly if he called her. After that she always came to me to play and when I walked in the door she would slather me in slober. I hope that she still loves me like that when I come home again.
