John Nemecek struggled with gender confusion from early childhood. Marrying at age 21 didn't change that confusion. Neither did raising three sons—all of whom are themselves now happily married. Four years ago, Nemecek's Internet search of a medical site matched the symptoms he exhibited: gender identity disorder (GID).

When I was beginning my transition, the people around me were aghast that I might be seeing a psychiatrist. Back then, mental problems were solved by prayer ..... not mental health professionals.
There is a small but significant change here. Some of the hard core fundamentalists are coming along... slowly but surely.
