:) We have all been / still are, closet cases.
Hiding the fact that you are a girl does not make you a transsexual per se. However Hiding the fact that you are a girl and wanting to be a boy could mean that you are a transsexual. There is no real test that you can take to confirm or refute the feelings you may have, but from your brief post it would be difficult for anyone to make a guess. If your feelings about yourself are confusing you so much that it is disrupting your life then I would recommend therapy to try and determine what lays beneath.
But in the mean time welcome to Susan's and await your replies. As was mentioned before, there is a ton of information here. Take some time to explore the site, get your bearings so to speak, and be sure to join in the forums where you can, as different points of view, and philosophies are always welcome.
Chat later.
Steph

Jade,
Glad to see you come in and open up and share what is happening with you. It takes a lot of courage even if this is a "online" site. Here's the thing, it is really something that you will resolve for yourself, and your on the first part of the journey!
Therapy with the correct person is a real good idea. What state are u located in? May be able to assist you in the area of good therapy.
Peace,
Taylor

Welcome, to Susan's! :)
I can't really add to Stephanie's reply except to say that you've found a good place to help you figure out what and where you are in life. It has helped me a great deal, even if I'm pointed in the "other direction." I hope you find everything you need and more from our little corner of the virtual community.
I found my therapist by doing GOOGLE searches and looking at lists of transgender experienced therapists on this as well as other sites. This may get you closer to seeing what's available in your area. You may also want to try and contact any local transgender support groups in your area. They may be able to steer you in the right direction too. Just getting to know some other trans people may help you ease your confusion. Also, you don't mention that you go to school but if you do, many universities have Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgendered (GLBT) organizations that can help too.
In the meantime, keep reading and post whenever you feel that you have something to contribute, even if it's a question. I'll be looking forward to reading more from you and am, again, happy to say,
WELCOME!

Welcome, Jaded. I can't answer the question of whether you're FtM, only you can after exploring it with a therapist.
I've been through transition from F to M, and I certainly feel more comfortable about myself now than I ever did before, but it took a while to get here. Browse around the posts here and you'll find some stuff that resonates for you and other stuff may not.

Welcome, Jaded!
The closet's a fine place to start and to practice a bit, but I'm guessing yout'd like to get out and see what it's like. DO get with a therapist, the good ones can be your guide through transition, as well as helping you see through your confusion.
I look forward to your future posts;
Karen

Hi again!
http://www.drbecky.com/therapists.html
I found this link that may be of some help. it appers to have a state by state listing of therapists with transgender experiance. if you cannot find one close to you call one of the others within your state and they should be able to tell you who is in your neiborhood. if you are on a college campus check with the health center.
