Hi everyone i'm new here my name is Brenda but my user name is Bredalee. It's a funny story how that name came about so I shall tell it. Well it was when I was setting up a registration on another site. When they asked me to pick a user ID I was going to use Brendalee but missed the N in my name and before I caught the mistake i'd already submitted it and Bredalee came to be I kind of liked it so I kept it. Well here is my story i've been crossdressing since I was seven it all started with my moms bra it just called out to me and said put me on and i've been dressing ever since. I really didn't go full blown til I was out of high school thats when I started buying my own clothes and dressing in secret still at night mostly sometimes in the daytime if nobody was home. Then came my first purging tossed it all out and said thats enough of that boys aren't supposed to wear girls clothes well as you all know that doesn't work all it did was make me want to dress even more. To this day I still dress in secret as my gf thinks I gave it all up when we got together and I did for about seven months and then it started again. At first i wore her clothes just to satisfy my urges to dress but then she lost weight and her things didn't fit anymore. So I started buying my own clothes again and have them all still i'm not purging anymore this is what i am and i'm not alone as the internet has opened up a whole world full of people like me well thats all for now I'll tell more in another post hugs and kisses Bredalee

Welcome, Brenda.
Story sounds familiar. My 'slippery slope' began with my mother's clothes, too, at about age 9. My gosh, almost 60 years ago.

Welcome, Brenda.
There are plenty of us here who share your story and have been through the same kinds of experiences. I used to wear my wife's things in secret, but this became increasingly difficult as I put on weight over the years. She has been a size 4 petite since the day we were married (35+ years ago), but I am now a size 16 tall. After hiding in the closet for too many years, I came out to my wife and started buying my own clothes. It is so much nicer to wear clothes that fit and that are styled more for a body like mine. My wife has been very supportive and has often bought me a dress or skirt and top for a birthday or Christmas present. I would recommend giving serious thought to telling your girlfriend about your crossdressing. It is possible that she will leave you over this, but it is equally possible that she will be supportive. I personally think that the problems with hiding this from a spouse are not worth it. If nothing else, the secrecy harms the relationship between the two of you.

Welcome, Bredalee!
I have to say that if you're up front with your feelings to a significant other, they may leave or they may stay.
But if you try to keep it secret and they find out (they ALWAYS do!) they will probably leave, even if they would have been supportive in other circumstances. The dishonesty kills the relationship. I lost a wife that way.
I cross dressed for many years before I realized what I was covering up by doing it. If you think you need help coming out to someone, try to talk to someone who has gone through something similar (maybe a support group?) or try to find a gender specializing therapist to help advise you.
Thank you for sharing with us and, again,
WELCOME!! :icon_hug:
