This is for those in the UK who have no chance financially of going private who are having to go through the NHS.
How long was you or have you been kept waiting before your very first contact with the NHS after your GP signed you to their list?

Hi Wishy
Waiting times for NHS treatment vary greatly depending upon which area you live in. In some areas you will be refered to a gender clinic very quickly, in others over 10 years. The NHS operates a minimum 2 year RLE and you will again need to live in the right area to get funding for surgery. Wales and Sheffield seem to be among the worst areas.
Sorry I can't tell you anything more positive than that.
Ann

I've been waiting for years. No sign that it will ever happen so I have no choice but to finance my GRS myself.

*wonders how far away Norfolk is*
These days, i'm feeling if i prepared myself to travel... i might get somewhere quicker.

Is moving on paper (just changing the records + mail forwarding with some friend) a possible solution?

well... call it sheffield... call it rotherham. A lot of places refer Rotherham as a sheffield area cos we're so close. I'm like a mile away from Meadowhell. And i work part time at Gamestation in Rotherham
