Report reveals disturbing divide in treatment of transexuals in the EU

The legal survey is the result of the largest and most comprehensive data collection on transgender people's lived experiences to date

The International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA)-Europe and TransGender Europe have published a comprehensive report on the experiences of health care by transgender people in European Union.

The revealing poll shows the disturbing divide in the treatment on transgender people in Europe.

Like many UK TS women I participated in the survey.

Of course what it doesn't show is the often even worse provision and discrimination faced by those in countries east of the latest batch of EU asscession states, notably Russia and the ex-Russian republics, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Turkey ...  :( ...

Of course it does show that in much of Europe there is provision for free (state funded) treatment of transsexual people, extending beyond the basics of therapy / hrt / SRS to hair removal and breast augmentation.

Here the USA sadly falls behind for the "most developed" nation in the world ....
