I walked to Starbucks after school today, and I ordered my usual Frappacino, and the guy I was talking to was talking to one of his friends, and they were joking about how I got there before everyone else. They said it like this, though: "Yeah, this guy must've ran here or something." "More like sprinted! He couldn't have gotten here that fast walking."
They said a couple other things referring to me as 'guy', but I don't remember them.

I found this amusing in two ways: 1. They called me a guy when I wasn't trying to pass. (I thought you could see my breasts pretty well, but I guess I can hide them under baggy shirts better than I thought.) 2. I actually did walk to Starbucks, but I walk really fast and generally get there before everyone else on the days I get a Frap. Mostly the same people work there, so they were commenting on how I always get there first.

I know that it's my voice that tips someone off that I'm a girl. I've heard people asking their friends many times behind my back if I'm a guy or a girl. They don't want me to hear, but I always do, and I smile to myself, knowing that I've done well. But this time was special cause this time it was adults or older teenagers saying it. They wouldn't recognize my voice because I have allergies and my voice was a little raspy, making it sound deeper since I couldn't make high-pitched or loud noises.

I haven't told my friends I'm transgendered yet, so I can't wear a binder or try to pass yet, but I always wear pretty baggy shirts so that at least they aren't as noticeable. I guess I would pass pretty well if I tried.

Sorry to rant about a small event, but I just thought it was kinda cool. :)

Why can't you bind?  I do and I haven't come out yet either.  Nobody has to know it's a binder instead of a bra.  At work nobody has said anything about the clothes (really obvious) or binding (probably not that obvious).  They've just noticed the hair cut.

Unless they greet you every morning with a hug, it will take them a while to notice.  It was 6 months before the first (and only) person commented on it, and I was unfortunately one of the more visible people in the school (teachers and students who I had never seen before somehow knew EVERYTHING about me, creepy :o ).  So if you really want to bind, go ahead.  Most people will just think you lost weight.

Good, I could lose a bit of weight. My chest makes me look fat in several different ways. I guess I could try it... but it might present a problem for getting to school (I bike 3 miles each way) and P.E.

I use the underworks double panel compression shirt, and I did fine in PE, the only problem being the occasional rolling up of the binder (solved that by wearing a second belt under my pants to allow the extra end of the binder to roll around that).  Do you have PE all year, or do you get a marking period of health or something? Although I may not be the best source since I rarely did PE due to medical reasons (missed about 2 out of the 3 marking periods of PE each year).

No, seriously I was sure somebody would comment on the mysterious disapearence of my boobs, but by now nobody did. Well, there was this funny incidence where I entered the parallel class and this guy (who has seen me hundreds of times in school) look at my like "Who the f*** IS THIS?!", he needed about 10 seconds to recognize me.

I worried about PE because the other girls would definitely notice that I was wearing something REALLY weird instead of a bra, but thankfully I had PE only twice since I started binding (and won't have it ever again ;D). It wasn't a problem becaus it was on the afternoon and I just put on my sport stuff at home and said afterwards that I don't undress because I go straight home to take a shower.

Well, there is only 8 days left of P.E. this year, but I'll be taking it next year. We have P.E. uniforms that consist of a gray t-shirt and black shorts. You aren't really allowed to wear anything underneath (except underwear) unless it's cold and you're wearing sweatpants or something. Other than that, you have to wear just the P.E. clothes. And I have P.E. every other day, first thing in the morning.

I see, this makes it a completely different situation and rather difficutl...(especially since it's every other day).
How does you binder look? Could you pass it of as some kind of undershirt or sport bra? Mine looks weird mainly becaus I pretty much made it myself.

Unforgiven, does your locker room have private shower stalls? 

Yeah, if by private you mean a curtain. But you're not allowed to change in there.

Isn't that like a privacy violation? I mean, what can they say? "No! You must get naked in front of everyone else so we can see you!" lol

In PE in the 10th grade for me, I just stripped right down in front of everyone and said that my binder was either a weird sports bra, an undershirt, or my best prank, "a tummy tucker" lol

Yeah, just thinking about it... would your average girl actually know its a binder?

Probably not, but that all depends on how the binder looks like.  If you are using an ace bandage, control top panties, or tape (Bad idea. Do not do it if you can avoid.), its kind of obvious what you are doing, but if you wear a modified back brace, or one of those compression shirt things, then most people will think its some weird contraption for medical reasons (a thought that is best encouraged >:D ).

My binders look like stretchy tank tops (underworks, but NOT the tri-top).  Nobody would probably notice.  At your age I was pretty flat chested anyway.

Well, mine is a abdominal binder, so it looks like a medical thing. But then I'd have a whole bunch of people hounding me about it. People at my school are so nosy. And if there's a tiny little thing about you that's out of place, you'll get asked about it forever.

They can not tell you what you can and can't wear underneth your clothes. If they try then that is a violation of your civil rights as a human being and you should just continue to wear what you wear.
AND, if I were you I'd change in the shower stalls anyway. I mean, what's the worst they would do to you? Detention?

Well, I could get referrals, detention, In house suspension, real suspention. It gets worse each time you don't follow the rules. But I guess you're right; it really isn't that bad a punishment, but I would just wait till my dad found out.

Thank you for the great reminder why my kids do not go to school.  This is absolutely ludicrous.  Seriously, WTF?!

I completely agree with you Jay. Public school systems are so messed up! They try to lead by fear and controll every move students make! High school is almost like a cult! lol

Well, there's not much I can do about that.

Just wanted to add this story. For Halloween I was a guy character, so I wore the binder to school. To dress for P.E., I was thinking about putting my P.E. shirt underneath, but decided not to. So when I got there, I put my PE shirt on over the shirt I was wearing, pulled my arms in, and pulled off the inner shirt. It was a little difficult with my costume shirt, since it had a jacket attached to it, but with a regular shirt it probably wouldn't be as hard. That would probably work.

Maybe. How much time do you guys get for changing?  Back when I had PE, we got 3 minutes going each way (a true crime).  If there is enough time you probably can manage it.  Just wear clothes easy to move in. 

Well, they're supposed to give us seven minutes, but before class, they don't open the door quickly and after class they let us out late, so we end up having only about 3 minutes to dress.
