Title: Your thoughts on selecting a surgeon
Post by: Lisbeth on May 13, 2008, 12:16:32 PM
I have narrowed the field down to these.  Does anyone have any thoughts on choosing just one?

I might be mistaken, but I thought Dr. Menard was retired.

The letter I received from the clinic at the beginning of the year listed both of them.

An interesting thought, Lis.  All people can tell you is there own experiences.  No one has their SRS done twice.  At least not if it's done right!

My opinion is that I have had wonderful results from Dr. Christine as you well know.  Others will give votes for the dynamic duo in Montreal (I'm not making fun of them, that's just the way I think of them in my mind) or Dr Bowers.

From just about any body's point of view any one of these four are an excellent choice so whoever you go to, you should have an excellent result.

We can debate until the cows come home about the advantages or disadvantages about one step vs two step procedures.  I'd say go with your gut and you can't go wrong.

Well I considered Dr. Bowers, Dr. MCGinn and Dr. Brassard in my GRS ponderings.  Personally I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.  In the end I picked McGinn, for no other reason then She just felt like the right one to go too.  She was also the only one of the three that actually called me back personally.  After talking to her on the phone and meeting her in person for a consultation, Well for me anyway, She was easy to both listen and talk too.  But then again ask me how I feel about that in two weeks
