Title: Portland OR has a new mayor

Portland has a new mayor who is openly gay. I am not sure on his position about GID or TS, but Portland is fairly open about Transpeople. Maybe he will expand the openness and show that we are not freaks or perverts. We are people on a different path, looking for some compassion.

Portland was one of the first cities in Oregon to put a non-discrimination clause in the ordinance, which included Gender Identity. I'm sure he is right in tune with the trans issues. I didn't know he was Gay, I bet some of the conservatives in Portland are just appalled at the cities choice of Mayor. The last Mayor was pretty liberal too and they were knocking him down all the time. In Eugene, we are suppose to be very progressive and during this last primary election in which we have two people running for Mayor, one very conservative and the other very liberal they has an almost tie for the position. Now they will run in November. Should be interesting.
