Title: Emotions changing

I've noticed that in the past week, I've had a number of anomalies with my emotions. First of all, I have been getting "bitchy" a lot easier and I get set off crying really easily now (I cried 4 times today). I have been able to control my emotions most of the time before this unless something triggered it like a touching movie or something bad happening, but it happens so easily now. So does this sound like an effect of the hormones that may not have proliferated until now? I did get more emotional after taking hormones, but nothing like this lately.

Melissa, I have a question;
How long have you been on HRT now?
I'm at the 4-month mark since starting HRT, and have noticed an increase in emotional lability (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Labile). Like you, something will trigger this -- *rush* of emotion -- a picture in a catalog, a thought, seeing a couple display affection, music, etc., and I'll find my breath momentarily taken away by the sudden onset of 'feeling.'
But I haven't (yet?) experienced the intensity and overwhelmingness you describe. I've heard of others getting to this stage in their transitions. Is it something I should prepare for, and how does one prepare for it?

Shortly after starting 'mones I once cried because my coworkers did not get the pizza order right and I ended up not having a lunch to eat. I actually had to leave, go home, cry on the way, and then eat lunch before returning to work. LOL, that was the craziest. Things are evened out now and I have a bit more control. When my father died (I had untransitioned at this point but was about ready to go FT again) I had to be the strong one and push all of the emotions to the back. I managed to do this so well that my sister ranted at me that it appeared that I did not care. My mother, who probably did hear me crying at night, took her head off for that one.

They seem to be back under control once again. It was jsut a period of a couple weeks where it seemed bad. Maybe it was a hormonal readjustment or something. I've been on hormones for 5 months now. I remember at around 2 months is when my emotions started getting stronger, but for the most part I was able to control them pretty well. I may have also been PMSing last week.
I'm sorry to hear about your father Summer.
