The net that Republican officials are casting for potential supporters is wider than in the past. Party leaders in recent weeks have met with evangelicals, hunters, blacks and Hispanics, as in the past. But they have even started conversations with representatives from the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

"These meetings have been fascinating," said Ohio GOP spokesman John McClelland, "and we're getting new views."

When Republicans do this its called a meeting, and they do it one group at a time.  When Democrats do it, they get everyone in the same room and call it a convention.

Lions and tigers and bears! OH my!!! Lions and tigers and bears! OH my!!! Lions and tigers and bears! OH my!!!

Doesn't the simple fact that they 'started' the conversations mean they are unworthy to have Republicans vote for them? Doesn't that prove they are condoning sexual predatorship, general satanic evil and are the harbingers of the end times? Doesn't that mean they cannot be 'true' Republicans?

Just curious

Though I never doubt the ability of my party to pull defeat from the jaws of certain victory, I don't see Obama as a Mondale, or a Dukakis or a Kerry, and McCain is no Reagan.  So....

Obama needs to pursue a very strong fifty state effort, and keep the heat on the people who are registering to get out and vote come November.

And they need to remember the "Its the economy stupid!"  And keep reminding people that gas was a buck fifty when GW came to power, and now its what???  And the war, and by the way, where's Ossama?
