"My lover, "Michael," is a man who adores transsexuals, or t-girls as we like to call ourselves. But he shocked me by saying, "I understand sex reassignment surgery is necessary for some people's happiness, but our medical system is already strained caring for those with life-threatening illnesses." If a man like Michael isn't sympathetic to the needs of my community, then no wonder ignoramuses like Tory MP Pierre Poilievre are trying to dictate what is medically necessary for transsexuals when they clearly know nothing of our lives."
